Hotel Review: KIP Hotel

If you are looking for a nice quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of town, there is the KIP Hotel which has been opened to the public since October 2015. It is located off the busy Jalan Kuching at the thriving Sri Utara commercial district… You cannot miss the red, white, grey KIP Hotel from Batu Caves or Jalan Kuching… and it is within a ten minute walking distance from the Tesco Hypermarket near Taman Wahyu…

Before we go any further, allow me to furnish you the address…..

KIP Hotel,

No.77 Jalan Seri Utara 1

Sri Utara, Off Jalan Ipoh,

68100 Kuala Lumpur

Tel: +6018 281 1608

The KIP Hotel is one of the newest business class hotel and the design and decor the hotel is minimalist modern, vibrant and colourful..

The KIP Hotel offers all business and leisure travelers a very convenient location… The Selayang Industrial Park, the popular Batu Caves, Genting Highlands, KL city , Kepong and even some of our local government offices is all easily accessed from the KIP Hotel..

The reception counter is a little bit small but they are pretty efficient and even use electronic check in via just signing on the tablet…..

From what I know, the KIP Hotel Kuala Lumpur has 199 vibrant and tastefully designed guestrooms that are modern, chic and comfortable, including 12 executive rooms and 3 suites.

The rooms are all well-equipped with a selection of amenities, LED screen TVs with satellite channels and complimentary WIFI which seems to work like a breeze….

I was given a room  on the 9th floor. It was really interesting to find out that every floor of the KIP Hotel comes with different colour theme…the 9th floor was sort of dusky pink…which will be the colours of the numbers on the door as well the walls of the floor and inside the rooms….

the Executive Queen Room, which was my home for the night….

The Executive Room which is about 346 sq. ft. comes with twin queen bed and is adequately equipped with modern conveniences. It is ideal for families or friends traveling in 3 or 4 people group…

I was really touched that the hotel management was really sweet enough to leave a personalized note for guests too…Afterall, it is these little things that truly goes a long way…..right?

Of course, there will be complimentary coffee and tea making facilities as well as complmentary RO water for guests…However, some hotels I learn in other part of the world actually charge for this… hahah

The hand held shower works great… One of the little set backs during my stay was that the bathroom drain was a little clogged and after my shower, the floor was a little flooded, but the maintenance people work very fast and efficient and within minutes, my bathroom was no longer flooded and everything worked well…Kudos to the maintenance team. There has been one or two hotels in the past, which I stayed in where the maintenance seem to take ages to appear…..

I really also love the fact that there were ample towels given….and there was also a hair dryer in the bathroom for use….

And a really generous amount of amenities for everyone in the room…

There is a pretty adequately equipped gym there for all the gym bunnies and fitness buff so that they need not skip their fitness routine…..

The Aqua Infinity Pool located on the 5th floor is really picturesque and breathtaking….It is just perfect for KIP Hotel guests who need a refreshing respite from a busy day or after a humid day sightseeing ….

Evening View of KIP Hotel

If you have plans to have a wedding party, wedding dinner, birthday party or a corporate event, KIP Hotel has 4 function rooms, including a total space of 1,969 square feet banqueting hall…

Here is a view of the KIP Hotel in the evening… and as it happens, evening  is quite a busy time at the KIP hotel since they cater to many tourists and it is the time these tourist come back from all the sightseeing or are getting ready to check in…

You will definitely find a lot of pretty views in the evening…when the lights are turned on…

You can find a secret(ok, maybe not so secret) and cosy hideaway on the 6th floor, called At Six, where the area is covered by faux grass carpetting and colourful Doof  beanbags of various sizes and shapes strewn across the area…

this place is a haven to chill out.. you can curl up with your favourite novel there, spend some time there with your friends and family chilling out and watching TV or a video presentation on the wall from the projector and so on…

This is the view from my room at about 7am…

Some Other Rooms Available

There is also the Deluxe Room which offers  simplicity and comfort, each of these Deluxe Room measures about 225 sq. ft. and features either queen or twin beds with dedicated bedside reading lights.

Then there is the Deluxe Suite which is ideal for those who likes their space.. This is ideal for long term guests or even some busy executive who will be spending more time working inside the hotel room…

If you need even more space, the Executive Suite might be your choice as it is huge (I do not know the measurements as it is not provided yet) .

It comes with two queen sized beds, a dining area, a living room, and is the size of a one bedroom apartment… hehe…

Personally, I had a very comfortable stay there and I found the staff  very accommodating and friendly .

My room was spacious enough for all three of us, and our beds were so comfortable we had a hard time dragging ourselves out of bed…
