MATTA Fair Sept 2016

Yours truly was over at the MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) fair yesterday and well, MATTA is now receiving full support from Tourism Malaysia in promoting domestic tourism.

Tourism Malaysia Pavilion occupies 60 booths at the Malaysia Hall in hall 4

Indonesia is also all out to promote Lombok as its must-visit destination at the 42nd MATTA Fair and one of the way is also via a new upcoming Indonesian movie Kalam Kalam Langit. This movie will star Henidar Amroe, Dimas Seto and Elyzia Mulachela will be screened at selected local cinemas from the 15th September

Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry promotion for South-East Asia director Rizki Handayani said Lombok was very popular with Malaysians for its scenic beauty and should be a place for halal tourism/ honeymoon

Yours truly attended a press conference where both MATTA and ASITA (Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) titled “The Development of Framework For Cooperation”.

It was signed between MATTA president Datuk Hamzah Rahmat and ASITA president, Asnawi Bahar, with the hope that the framework will continue to ensure all parties are on the same page and work towards the common goals as to promote inbound travel to Malaysia and Indonesia.

Terengganu is also being promoted as Malaysia’s favourite destination for this round of Matta Fair with 16 booths from Tourism Terengganu at the PWTC — the largest among state government tourism departments at the fair.

As most of us Malaysians know it, Terengganu is best known for its pristine islands, sandy beaches, historical sites, unique arts and culture, cuisine and warm hospitality.

Products from Tasik Kenyir will also be promoted at the fair as well as a songket-weaving demonstration.

The Visit Beautiful Terengganu 2017 tagline is “There’s more to Terengganu than you know”

Besides all that, be sure to check out the Korean Pavilion if you are a Descendants of the Sun fan as the Koreans are going all out using Song Joong Ki as their ambassador to lure fans to Korea…

Yours truly was surprised to see Captain Yu Si Jin there as well.. (heheh)

Look for the Japanese Pavilion to learn more about the many different places you can visit in Japan. They are also conducting a host of activities, treats and little souvenirs you can get as well..

Don’t mind me, I am a little biased as I love Japan and Korean culture a lot so I always tend to check out these pavilions.

There are plenty of great packages, hotels stays and cheap tickets to your favorite themed parks both in Malaysia and from neighboring countries and so on, so do check out the MATTA fair if you have not done so yet…

The MATTA fair in Kuala Lumpur is held twice a year at PWTC
