It can be a challenge getting there though as the nearest public transportation would be the Gerik Bus Terminal, approximately 42 km away, so it would be better to take a slow drive here as it would only take about plus/minus 5 hours from Kuala Lumpur, 3 hours from Butterworth, Penang and about 2 hours from Kota Bharu….

There is sufficient accommodation for all as there are 103 rooms, 2 Luxury Villas & 1 Houseboat at the Belum Rainforest Resort.

Azlanii – a Superior room that comes with 1 King bed / 2 Single beds (29 sq.m) I got to stay here… and my room was comfortable with firm mattresses and two pillows for each bed. I love the huge rainforest shower head that was fixed on the ceiling of the bathroom and you can have the choice of using the normal shower head as well. The Azlanii room is the most basic of the rooms as there is no TV there. But since we were kept busy with excursions, trekkings and tours, we did not need any TV as once we got back to the room, we were just all knackered and ready to recharge and recover our energy and what better way then to sleep.

There is WiFi around… but the WiFi only allows you to check out your WhatsApp and Facebook… uploading any pictures would be near impossible.. but if you want to do that, you should try the WiFi at the Rainforest Restaurant, the reading area near the Chengal block or the  Houseboat area where you are actually poaching into the Royal Villas’ WiFi… hahahah (speaking from my own experience… hehehe)

Villa Tanjung Wan – a 7 Bedroom Luxury Rainforest Villa with its own private pool and personalized butler service. This villa comes with 4 King beds and 10 single beds and can accommodates 18 – 20 people in a huge 603 sq.m area!!! I just love the swing in the balcony of the master bedroom… hahahah

Villa Santubong – a 3 Bedroom Luxury Rainforest Villa with its own private pool and personalized butler service. This villa comes with 3 King beds and can accommodate 6 people. I personally love this villa loads….. as it is just so pretty and luxurious to the point of decadence… the villa is 318 sq.m

Houseboat – a wonderful experience to stay in this slightly cramped and more basic Houseboat, if you are comparing it to the other rooms in the Belum Rainforest Resort, but you can explore the lush, green and natural ambience of Belum Temengor Lake and forest at its very best. It actually is the perfect setting for those who desire adventure and just wants to appreciate nature at its pristine condition. There are 4 cabins; 2 queen beds, 7 single beds and an open roof deck on the Houseboat, ideal for a group of 16 family members or friends….. Be sure to indulge in the BBQ dinner as you gently float along the Temengor lake as well…

Do not miss out the opportunity to chillax and dip your feet or your body into the infinity pool. If you can’t swim, don’t worry, the pool is not that deep, it is just about 4 feet deep..

There is no gym around the area, so if you are in need of exercise, just go for one of the many treks there are…. they can make your muscles scream in protest, like they did mine, they are really good workouts and you get to see the beauty of nature as well… LOL…

And once you are too exhausted from all those treks, get those muscles kneaded and some pampering done at the Puteri Dewi Spa…

and as for food….. the ala carte dishes from the menu at the Hornbill Restaurant is pretty delicious..I had the Spaghetti Bolognaise for lunch and my daughter had the Char Hor Fun.  The Spaghetti Bolognaise (RM29.20 ) was served with beef bolognaise gravy and served with grated parmesan cheese and garlic bread. It was less salted and tasty, and I think the portion was also very generous… and can be shared if you are a small eater. The Char Hor Fun Cantonese Style is Penang’s Stir Fried Flat Rice Noodles with Prawn , Squid, Vegetable and Egg (RM23.30)…. and the dish was generous in portion and tasty.
