Ibis Styles Singapore on MacPherson, Singapore

Ibis Styles on MacPherson is the newest 3 star international brand hotel in Singapore strategically located at the crossroads of MacPherson and Aljunied road, the very colourful and swanky hotel is part of a mixed use development and sits atop MacPherson Mall, occupying levels 4 to 9. The MacPherson Mall is yet to be occupied, but once it does, it will offer guests even more convenience and amenities.

My daughter and I were slightly confused when we emerged from the MacPherson MRT and could not quite find the hotel… but we took a bus and alighted at the corner of MacPherson and Upper Aljunied and saw the building in all its glory…

We crossed the road and looked for the entrance to the hotel which was located at the back of the MacPherson Mall. Stepping into the hotel lobby was definitely a surprise when we seem to be welcomed by an explosion of colour literally

The Ibis Styles on MacPherson offers a wide range of room types to suit each individual varied needs..Each of the different kind of rooms are brightly coloured in shades of orange, red, yellow and grey… and you can choose from a choice of Deluxe rooms, Double rooms, Triple rooms as well as Family Rooms that even comes with a kitchenette!!

The rooms are about 18 sqm to 20 sqm in size and what makes the rooms exceptional would of course, be the bubbly, bouncy, big bed with a soft duvet….that makes you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud…  I kid you not, the bed is seriously comfortable…..

My room was located at the 9th floor of the hotel and I had an amazing view of the pool and the neighbourhood…but what my daughter and I loved best was of course, the bed… we had a huge comfy king sized bed but my daughter tried her best to eat into my space…

I was also thrilled to find some sweet desserts and fruits on my table welcoming me..

There is also a free smart phone with app which is free for use around Singapore in the room. It enabled me to find recommendations to hotels and interesting places to visit and well,  I could make free calls back to Malaysia (and a few other places)

The shower stall and toilet were separated and the shower came with both a hand held shower and a rain style shower. There were shampoo from Lux and body wash from Dove

I was excited about checking out the hotel and we headed to the 4th floor where there was a couple of computers for those who did not bring their laptop to get on, and there was the absolutely cheerful and colourful coffee house and the pool….was just amazingly gorgeous…

The pool garden is truly a haven for those who wants to relax and take a dip in the 25 m swimming pool… surrounded by swaying palm trees and resort setting deck chairs and cabanas…

There is also a small but well equipped gym available for those who need or wish to work out..

The hotel offers free shuttle service to the nearby Tai Seng (circle line) MRT as well as the Nex Mall at Serangoon…

If you are in a hurry, no sweat, you can just walk a few metres and catch any SBS Bus at the bus stop along the MacPherson Road and get off 2 bus stops away to get to the Tai Seng MRT.

I wanted to go to the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum and was actually planning to take the MRT there when I realise that there was a bus across the road that went there directly… so my daughter and I hopped on that bus (no 151) and headed there.. The bus stopped right in front of the museum… and the bus back to the Ibis Styles on MacPherson was also just across the road from the museum… so convenient…

And hahaha… I realised one thing… the Ibis Styles on MacPherson or rather the MacPherson Mall building and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum building actually looked somewhat similar… Don’t mind me, just an observation on my part…

Room rates start from $138++ per night, including buffet breakfast and internet access, presenting exceptional value for business and leisure travellers.

You can also choose to enjoy your buffet breakfast in air-conditioned comfort or dine in the alfresco seating area on the wooden poolside deck, or savour cocktails and light bites while they sunbathe by the pool.

Chat & Chow serves up a hearty buffet breakfast for guests every morning… and it also offers a wide range of tapas, Western delights and Asian mains, coupled with themed buffet nights. The restaurant’s interiors are a cheery canvas of colours and textures, designed to activate the senses of sight, taste and smell, embodying a relaxed dining experience which is casual, cool and fun.

The restaurant also incorporates a private dining room for 20 guests, headlined by a vibrant mural portraying faces of multicultural Singapore you cannot resist taking a selfie with or at least take photos of!!!

Personally, I really love the pool area of the Ibis Styles on MacPherson, as well as the swanky and very colourful designs… and I also loved the super comfortable bed…. And the WiFi here works pretty good…

There is also a laundry room for those who are staying longer and want to get their laundry done…

And yes, I would absolutely stay here again in this colourful and swanky hotel in a heartbeat…

Thanks to Ibis Styles on MacPherson for their very kind hospitality…

  1. Wow, this is such an honest and well written Hotel review. I don’t mind paying much if this is how I get in return. A true luxury Hotel that would eventually satisfy every customer. I never experienced staying in a Luxury Hotel, but if I take the chance I’ll surely grab it. Otherwise, this hotel is highly recommended.

  2. I love the eclectic design of the headboard. And the tiles im the bathroom, really cool! I haven’t seen a hotel as artistic as Macpherson. And there’s a gym, that’s nice. I would love to stay there myself when I finally go to Singapore.

  3. The hotel looks hip and contemporary perfect for attracting young adults like me. I love the bursts of color and the swimming pool. I’m just used to staying at hostels though as it’s a great way to meet fellow travelers. Plus, I prefer using the money for attractions. I might end up staying the whole day at the hotel if I stay there :))

  5. I have never stayed at any ibis. There’s one located right next to my office though; and didn’t hear quite well reviews about it… your review is so consoling. Now I can confidently take a chance!

  6. Wow, good thing that their laundry room is accessible. I love the colorful head of the bed frame. I find the style of the place has a modern touch and that makes it awesome. Plus the view you have there, this is worth to visit indeed most especially if you badly need to unwind. The price is typical and good thing it comes with breakfast buffet.
