Yours truly was over at La Figue at the PV128 Setapak with some friends for brunch. If you are wondering where that is, it is the shop lots right opposite the Columbia Asia Hospital in Setapak, that is along the main Genting Klang Road… La Figue is located at the back…. La Figue was previously known as Tappers Café before the owner decided to rebrand the café with some deliciously tempting pastries and to die for Mille Crepe Cake.
The café is pretty pleasant, and clean looking with a white interior concept somewhat reminding my of colonial style cafes.
For those who smoke or prefer to avoid sitting in the air conditioned interior can opt to sit outside at the Alfresco sitting area cordon off by pots of plants….
My daughter and I could not resist the delicious looking pastries that were nicely on display inside the restaurant and so I picked up a Fire Cracker Sausage and my daughter, an Apple Strudel…
and when my eyes fell on some of the Mille Crepe Cake (RM11.90) there.. I could not resist ordering a slice of the Oreo Mille Crepe Cake.. which tasted most heavenly… but take a bite into the Salted Caramel Mille Crepe Cake.. it is just as scrumptious…
I ordered the Big Breakfast Set (RM13.90) which consisted of a slice of grilled chicken ham, hash brown, sautéed mushrooms, scrambled egg, sausage, toast and baked beans …
And lately since I learned to drink coffee, I ordered a glass of iced coffee latte (RM7.00)…
My daughter decided to have one of their signature dishes, the Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM14.90)… The chicken chop comes served with baked vegetables and Hainanese tomato sauce. The chicken chop is covered with thick gravy, strong aroma of the onions and tomatoes .. you will definitely love it !!!
My other friends decided to try other signature dishes such as the Spaghetti Cream Carbonara (pictured above RM13.90) , Pizza and etc.
They actually do have an All day Breakfast Set Menu that comes with a FREE cup of coffee or tea with each order. Choose from Big Breakfast, French Toasts, Egg & Toast, Scrambled Egg and Sausage, American Breakfast, and the local favourites – Nasi Lemak.
They have some set lunch from 11am to 3pm. Each of set lunch can choose one type of drink. Just add RM 1 and you get to choose the drinks choices of Honey Lemon, Lemon Tea, Lime Juice, and “Sirap Bandung”. The price is pretty reasonable from RM 13.90 onwards and you can find students and families coming here to dine.
The Spaghetti Aglio Olio comes with a Tofu Steak (RM13.90), which was pretty unique and unusual to me.. but the pasta taste good and the Tofu Steak did actually compliment the dish perfectly…
Another friend of mine ordered the Chicken Parmigiana (RM14.90), where copious amount of mozzarella and parmesan cheese were lovingly melted over fried breaded chicken served with fries and coleslaw. Truly irresistible and scrumptious…
The Margarita Pizza (RM12.90) which consisted of tomatoes, basil and cheese was truly satisfying…I loved it that the pizza came on thin crispy crusts and this made the pizza more delicious… And look at the generous ooey gooey cheese….
The Hawaiian Pizza (RM13.90) came with chicken bits, pineapple and cheese,
and the Okonomi Pizza (RM13.90) is a savoury pizza that comes with Osaka Pancake-inspired toppings and covered with dancing dried bonito fish flakes….
If you are a student, you can get 10% off your dine in bill…. Just flash your student ID card.
Celebrate your birthday here with some friends and you can get to enjoy 20% discount if you come with 8 pax and above.
The La Figue is a pork free restaurant…and what I like about it would be that the ambience is calming and nice, and the food is delicious and very reasonably priced, and try the pastries they have available.. you will definitely love the flakiness and also the combinations…. and yes, I will definitely be coming back here for more with my family..
