Ever wondered how it would be like to actually pilot a plane? ? I know I sure have.. the idea of controlling a big plane with passengers may be a very rewarding experience but it is no joke, and it is no easy task as well.
So, yes, a pilot’s job is very challenging…And not everyone can afford to learn to be a pilot as well, as the fees are also sky high…
However, if you are curious to know how it feels like or what is it like in the cockpit, you can now head over to the Subang Sky Park Terminal and put on the Captain’s hat and take control of either an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 at SimFlightKL, one of Malaysia’s premier flight simulators.
I was lucky to get to try my hand at flying the Airbus A320…, however before I got to get into the pilot’s seat, I was briefed first on the features and everything about the plane… and there was really to take it I was almost worried as I could not remember everything….but my trainer reassured me that it was ok, and just part of procedure..
After my briefing, I was then allowed into the cockpit with my ‘co-pilot’ who taught me and showed me all I needed to do… then I was allowed to fly from Subang Airport to KLIA….I had to prepare for take off, balance the plane and land… all with assistance of course… and well, since I was new at this, this was the best route…
You can however choose to fly to Heathrow, Schiphol, Narita or anywhere else you desire.. the controls are not too hard to control, and much easier then the one at KidZania… hahaha – thanks to power steering…
SimFlightKL is founded by Captain Amin Said and is opened to the public, aviation enthusiasts, and pilots in training. It is among only three flight simulators of its kind in Malaysia and it provides visitors with a unique and memorable experience.
SimFlightKL is part of an array of shopping, lifestyle, and dining choices, that has made SkyPark Terminal an attractive lifestyle destination. It’s unique approach of combining aviation with leisure has changed the overall airport experience, previously associated with long waits and tedious commutes. This has allowed it to cater not just to travelers, but also to the large residential and working communities surrounding the airport.
SimFlightKL is a great avenue for families and friends to embark on an exciting adventure. Such one-of-a-kind additions to the airport coupled with its strategic location, only 30 minutes away from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and easily accessible via most major highways, have led to the growth of its popularity to the point of it being widely regarded as Malaysia’s busiest domestic airport.
SkyPark Terminal’s status as a popular city airport, handling over 3 million passengers in 2015, and with a projected footfall of 5 million passengers in 2020, serves as a stimulus for businesses such as SimFlightKL that operate within it.
SimFlightKL is open to the public from Mondays to Sundays from 9:30am to 9:00pm. Choose from a number of packages from as low as RM 55. For more information on SimFlightKL visit its official website at http://www.simflightkl.com/ .
