When I was at the Lost World of Tambun and stayed at the Lost World Hotel, I just had to pay a visit at the glorious Lost World Hot Springs..
Do you know that that moment when you slide your body into the warm hot springs water feels just so heavenly?? So, what is it that makes soaking in hot springs such indulgence?
Spring water is warm, some even hot enough to cook or boil eggs… depending on where it is… However, the temperature is not the actual characteristic of these spring waters that has any healing effects rather, it is the mineral composition of the springs that really matter.
Termed as “balneology,” springs found in natural environments actually contain some “qi” (life-force energy) of all five elements: earth (the ground in which the spring is held); metal (the various minerals in the spring-water); water (the water itself); wood (the surrounding trees, and/or the wooden benches etc. surrounding the spring); and fire (the heat of the water, and the sun overhead). Therefore many people since ancient times believe hot springs have the capacity to balance and harmonize our body and mind, quite naturally.
How, you might ask… well, soaking in these highly concentrated mineral water heats up our body temperature and kills harmful germs and viruses, eliminates toxins, increases blood flow and circulation, increasing metabolism, and absorption of essential minerals.
So what can you derive from soaking in the hot springs?
1) Improve Circulation – Bicarbonate hot springs are said to help with blood circulation, hypertension, nervous imbalances and atherosclerosis.
2) Treat Skin Infections – Bathing in sulfur-rich hot springs helps treat dry scalp and arthritic pain as well as internal problems such as menopausal symptoms and digestive disorders.
3) Reduce Stress – Everyone who steps into the natural hot waters of mineral hot springs will find themselves instantly relaxing. There are just so many health benefits found in relaxation from improved sleeping patterns and nutrient assimilation to creating healthy digestive tracts. There are even benefits to the buoyancy of hot springs which help increase the range of motion of muscles and joints.
4) Detoxify – It is believed that bathing repeatedly in hot springs can help tone your autonomic nervous system and normalize your endocrine system, as well as release toxins in your body through sweating.
5) Boost Immune System – Some proponents believe that iron content in hot springs, along with other trace minerals, might help build your body’s immune system, making it stronger and more able to fight infections.
So, take a dip in the hot springs, let your blood pressure drops, your circulation go up, and your metabolism kick up a bit, as you let your body relax in the warm or hot water of the Lost World’s Hot Springs..
When you stay at the Lost World Hotel, you will be sure to be able to experience Lost World Hot Springs and Spa By Night with 2 complimentary tickets with each stay… or alternatively, you can also purchase tickets to enter the Lost World Hot Springs… which will also enable you to visit the night petting zoo and indulge in good food along Ipoh Street food street…
