I was over at the very classy Pavilion Elite, again for the 2nd time in two weeks, but this time it was for the Grand Opening of the Lukfook Jewellery here at the Pavilion Elite and also Suria KLCC.
Lukfook is a jewellery shop under the Luk Fook Holdings Limited, and it is a luxury brand in Hong Kong and Mainland China dedicated to providing their customers all over the world with high-quality jewellery products and professional services. With the opening of two new shops here in Malaysia, Lukfook now has more than 1,470 shops around the world, in nine countries and regions…such as Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, Korea, United States of America, Canada, Australia and Malaysia
By the way, Lukfook means (means “Six Fortunes”)
The Group hopes to provide their customers with a unique shopping experience in response to their corporate vision of ‘Brand of Hong Kong, Sparkling the World’, as to maintain Lukfook’s position as world-renowned Hong Kong jewellery brand.
Yours truly was there for the Grand Opening which was officiated by TVB actress Ms Kristal Tin, winner of TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress; Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur; Datuk Henry Yip Choong Hung, Vice President of Hong Kong-Malaysia Business Association, and Ms Shirley Wong, Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of the Group.
You can find pure gold accessories here as the gold sold here are all 999 gold, unlike the other gold shops in Malaysia who sells 916 gold.
They also have white gold, platinum jewellery as well as some of the best quality diamonds and grade 1 jade any imperial emperor or empress from ancient times would have loved…
This was one of the rare times I got to see, feel and try on some of the most expensive jewellery around… and it felt awesome….
Then we were all ushered out of the shop to watch Ms Shirley Wong and Ms Kristal Tin decked out in Lukfook’s jewellery dot the eyes of the lions. The Chinese lion dance has a tradition in China more than a thousand years to give them good luck, health, blessing and prosperity. These objective and concepts gave birth to Feng Shui and the Chinese dragon and lion subsequently. However, to empower the lion to do its duty, it is brought to life by the eye dotting ceremony using the powder of cinnabar (jee sa) soaked in water will be used.
The first part to be dotted will be the mirror on the front of the lion’s head, this is known as the ‘third eye’ then followed by the nose so that it can breathe and then inside the mouth, the ears, the eyes, head, neck, body, tail and finally the limbs.
Once the lions were brought to life, they then danced around the new Lukfook Jewellery shop before eating and scattering lettuce at the entrance to “spread” out the good luck and also to symbolize a “fresh start” for the new year…
The ceremony then ended with the cutting of the ribbon and toasting by the VIPs…..
So for those of you who are looking for the best gold ever to woo that lady, to reward someone, or for your ownself, you now know where to go…
…some of these pieces have been delicately and painstakingly handcrafted since pure gold is known to be a little ‘soft’ and fragile compared to the 916 gold..
