It’s been a while since I have been out in the late evenings along Jalan P Ramlee. I used to hang out there a lot when I was working with Warner Music Malaysia back then and the company was still at MUI plaza there at Jalan P Ramlee and Beach Club and the Grand Modestos had just opened and was the most happening place to be…and that was all those years ago… and even Beach Club has since relocated a little further down the road closer to KLCC…
Anyway, when I arrived outside GravyBaby with my fellow AboutKL bloggers, I definitely was mesmerized by all the lights… and the ritzy décor of the place…
It was so fancy, bright and make you feel like a movie star with gold mirror like ceiling, director style chairs, marble top tables and elaborate bar… I can just imagine Marilyn Monroe soooo at home here….
Anyway, GravyBaby offers some pretty decent Blighty-style pies baked by a British former military club chef, the executive chef Paul Elliot spent the past few years helming the kitchen at London’s Army & Navy Club…
This place is just 5 minutes walk from the KLCC, in front of the Crown Regency Serviced Suites and somewhere behind Concorde KL, so if you’re at the infamous Jalan P Ramlee, where some of the notorious clubs in KL are, this is a must visit place! And yes, I cannot believe it but this place opens from 7am till 4am…..
I chose to have one of their infamous GravyBaby pies – Chicken, Mushroom and Tarragon, like how can I resist a good pie with mushroom in it.. LOL… I opted for just a pie and a gravy RM20, and some Buttery Mash RM5 thrown in with some Original British Meat Gravy…
The pie came in a little wooden tray. Simple but nice presentation… and I did think that the gravy looked somewhat watery, being more used to thick gravies… but what do you know… the combination was just perfect and the gravy was very flavourful… the pie is generously packed with chicken, mushroom and tarragon… unlike some other pies elsewhere which can seem just half filled… Personally I enjoyed the combination and think it is pretty good… and even if the pie is just medium sized… it is very filling….
I had the Morrocan Orange tea RM11 which was a healthy zesty mix of orange, rosehip, hibiscus and apple…
Then I also tried their signature drink which was the Berry Lemonade RM14 . This is a lemonade and soda concoction with a blend of berries to make it sweeter… I am not too fond of gassy drinks, but this is pretty ok, and I love the mixture of flavours…
It is sure a nice place to bring your date and enjoy the ambiance while enjoying some pretty decent and good pies… the pastas are also pretty decent ..

Yummy pies.. My fav pie in the whole wide world is the Shepherd Pie so if i get a really good Shepherd’s Pie, I would be super fun the whole day – no sulky me. But maybe I do need to go here just to try out other pies they have available as well.
