So yours truly was delighted to have been invited to the launch of ‘The Rise to Opulence’ at the Pavilion KL, and it is pretty well known that when it comes to festive mall decorations, Pavilion is always among the best of the best in Malaysia, and so this time around, it was just no different.
I was slack jawed when I enter the mall and saw the amazing and humongous phoenix ‘flying’ in the ‘sky’ at the mall’s iconic Center Court.. It surely was a magnificent sight of epic proportions…
So anyway, I learned that the theme ‘The Rise to Opulence’ was promoting the notion that one’s hard work , passion and blessings can actually give rise to receiving opulence… in which how the humble Rooster can actually transform into a Majestic Phoenix, rising high into the sky, full of pride and beauty….
The grand celebration, and it was truly a very grand celebration, was attended by Guest of Honour, YB Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan Bin Tengku Mansor, Minister of Federal Territories, who was escorted into the Centre Court by 8 magnificent Prosperity Lions and the Executive Chairman of Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd, Puan Sri Cindy Lim… and started auspiciously….
Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail of Pavilion KL said that Pavilion KL leads the way in presenting grand decorations , exciting promotions and performances for the Lunar New Year… and Pavilion continues to open their doors and welcome everyone, regardless of race or religion to partake in the festivities, and fostering the spirit of unity and racial harmony that is unique to Malaysia, this Year of the Rooster …
The launch was then officiated with the hatching of the Golden Egg to reveal the Golden Rainbow Rooster believed to be a symbolic gesture of the blessing of prosperity and happiness to all… Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan and Puan Sri Cindy Lim were then given Giant Golden Coins by the God of Prosperity to bestow good fortune and success…..
The drum performance that followed was magnificent and mesmerizing by award winning local percussion group ‘Orang Orang’ Drum Theatre.. when they were done, Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan and Puan Sri Cindy Lim tried their hands in beating the drums and awaken the 88 foot long dragon, said to be the biggest in Malaysia.. we were definitely speechless and enchanted by the dragon as it descended from the mall’s Spanish Steps…
Pavilion also introduced it’s ongoing ‘Charity at Heart’ initiative – on which has raised over RM2.6 million to date for charity….
This time, there is a fascinating Rooster Gallery displayed at the Centre Court, where a myriad of Rooster merchandise is exhibited, exclusively sourced by Pavilion KL from around the world…do check out the ‘Dance of the Prosperity Rooster’ decorative plate that is being sold at RM1,288 – in which the proceeds will be going to old folks’ homes and needy organizations nationwide… There are only 650 pcs of these limited edition heritage glassware from Turkey especially created for Pavilion featuring an intricately painted Rooster, handmade by master craftsmen in pearl, gold or silver finishes… do proceed to the Porte Cochere Concierge at Level 2 or call 03-2188 8833 for more info….
The grand launch concluded with a breath taking, jaw dropping acrobatic lion dance performance by World Champion Lion Dance Troupe, Kun Seng Keng, who left the crowd speechless with their stunning and funny award winning performance at the mall’s Bukit Bintang Entrance….
You can bring home the Prosperity Ang Pow with RM300 spent in a single receipt at specialty stores from now to 12 February 2017 and redeem a TWG Tea gift with two cumulative receipts of RM800 spent with the UnionPay Card from now to 12th February 2017.
Be sure to take a nice selfie with the Sunsilk 3D bottle, and beautiful blossoms and lanterns at the Main Entrance, upload it to Instagram or Facebook and win some amazing prizes…
