After a day of exploring the ruins of the Portuguese stronghold, the 16th century A Famosa, checking out some history background at the Stadhuys Museum, experiencing the interesting heritage lanes and streets around Jonker Street and cruising along the Melaka River. What can be a better way than to head over to the Hard Rock Cafe Melaka to satisfy your cravings for authentic cuisine and classic hits.
Almost everyone, young and old who loves music – rock and roll, and who want to feel ‘cool’ or trendy, including, yours truly here, Hard Rock Café is a must visit place anywhere in the world.. It is almost a necessity to head to the nearest Hard Rock Café and take a few pics in front of the iconic café and shop at The Rock Shop® for some of the exclusive merchandise available there, which would normally be the collectible fridge magnets, badges, shot glasses or lanyards or T shirts. For my elder daughter, she loves collecting lanyards, and personally for myself, I am more of a T shirt person….
Then you should of course treat your taste buds to some of the delicious menu there is….

While feasting your senses on various memorabilia that decorates the café from musical instruments, costumes, autographed albums and so on….
We were blessed to be able to indulge in some of the good food Hard Rock Café had to offer us there….
We had some JUMBO COMBO RM88.00
The Jumbo Combo is a huge platter of HRC most popular appetizers consisting of signature wings, onion rings, Tupelo Chicken Tenders, Spinach Artichoke Dip with Parmesan Flatbread and Potato Skins.. it comes served with honey mustard, hickory barbecue sauce and blue cheese dressing…. And this platter is big enough to share between 4-5 people….
COBB SALAD RM55.00
It was a colourful bowl of mixed greens topped with grilled chicken breast, avocado, tomato, red onion, seasoned turkey bacon, cheddar and Jack cheese as well as some hard-boiled eggs. It comes served with your choice of dressing, which you can choose from ranch, honey mustard, Caesar, blue cheese dressing, balsamic vinaigrette, oil and vinegar…
CEASAR SALAD RM32.00
This plate consist of fresh romaine lettuce tossed in HRC homemade Caesar dressing, topped with garlic croutons and fresh shaved parmesan cheese
You can actually add on grilled chicken RM15, grilled salmon RM40 or some grilled fajita beef RM25 if you desire….
GRILLED SALMON RM65.00
This is one of my favorite dish as I love fish… and this 8oz salmon fillet is tenderly grilled and drizzled with sweet and spicy barbecue sauce with maitre de butter. It comes served with seasonal vegetables and served with heavenly roasted garlic smashed potatoes….. om nom nom…..
BBQ CHICKEN RM48.00
This is a big plate of chicken as it consist of 1/ 2 a chicken, so unless you are a big eater, this is best shared with a friend or family members…the chicken is lovely, as it has been brined and basted with HRC’s hickory barbecue sauce and roasted until tender to the taste….
ORIGINAL LEGENDARY BURGER RM62.00
This is suppose to be what HRC is famous for and it is quite justly so…take a bite into the stuff legends are made of and you might temporary forget your spouse/ parents name… heheh… it comes topped with smoked turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, golden fried onion ring, crisp lettuce and tomato…. And it is not to be missed……
TANDOORI SPICED CHICKEN BURGER RM60.00
If you like tandoori, this is something you will be sure to enjoy… the hand –pressed chicken tika patty is seasoned with authentic Indian spices and fresh herbs and topped with melted cheese, mint mayo, crisp lettuce and vine- ripened tomato… it comes served with sliced cucumber and seasoned fries and I love the flavour… only thing is I felt that the cucumber was sliced too thick…. But well, that is just me….
FISH AND CHIPS RM55.00
The fish and chips is actually made from Seabass Fillet, instead of the normal dory, which has been dipped in HRC’s special batter and deep fried until it is golden brown resulting in a crispy bite… when you bite into it… it comes with French fries and you will love the tangy tasting coleslaw as there are hints of citrus in it….
FAJITAS CHICKEN RM60 /BEEF RM80 / DUO COMBO RM75
The fajitas are just scrumptious… and you have to choose between chicken or beef or have both… my suggestion will be to have both…the meat is served with pico de gallo, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, fresh guacamole, sour cream and warm tortillas……just perfect for a light but filling meal
NASI GORENG RM32.00
Craving some local Malaysian dishes, instead of the western delights… HRC has some amazing dishes as well… this plate of fried rice is pretty tasty with prawns and vegetables and topped with a sunny side up fried egg. It is also served with a couple of chicken satays and prawn crackers…
SEAFOOD CHAR KWAY TEOW RM32.00
I love Char Koay Teow and this one is just as good in its own way… this stir fried flat noodles with a little bit of yellow noodles came stir fried and tossed with bean sprouts, fish cake, egg, squid, prawns and sweet and spicy soya sauce…. Just perfect….
ASSAM PEDAS – not on the new menu….
It is basically a Melaka favorite which is a Malaysian fish stew where fish is cooked in tamarind (asam) fruit juice and served with fluffy white rice topped with a plain omelette… this is no longer on the main menu for whatever reasons but it is definitely yummy and should be back on the menu me thinks…….
So here are what I have tried and recommend and I hope this will help in you making decisions on what to eat when you head over there to the Hard Rock Café Melaka…..
