It is certainly not my luck or ‘rezeki’ to be able to see live hot air balloons or get a ride in them yet, even if it was just a tethered one..

I was all ‘gung ho’ about this amazing Hot Air Balloon Fiesta but sadly I had just so many things to do and did not have the time to check it out until on Sunday afternoon, before I dropped my eldest girl back to her college at Puncak Alam. It was just so happened that the 9th MyBalloonFiesta was happening there at Desa Park City, much more convenient for city dwellers to pop in and check out what exciting activities they had there….

It was just too bad I got there at about 3.30pm in time for the last afternoon session and there were no hot air balloons around except at Virtual Reality one…

Known to be the most photographed and longest running hot air balloon event in the country, the 9th MyBalloonFiesta  2017 was said to fill the skies with more than 20 normal as well as some pretty unique shaped hot air balloons from 12 countries – including Germany, Netherlands, United States, Belgium, Japan, Malaysia and other neighbouring countries.

As many as 16 international hot air balloon pilots participated in this year’s fiesta and there were said to be interesting balloons such as a Rooster, a Hatching Chick Heart, Oxtopus and a Water Drop…

This year’s theme ‘Balloon in the Park’ was slightly different from previous years because it was brought closer to the city centre to give more people the chance and opportunity to experience and enjoy these hot air balloons up close…

Then there were special balloon activities that were held exclusively for MyBalloon Club members where they were treated to live jazz performance, a gourmet buffet breakfast, a complimentary tethered hot air balloon ride and a private, intimate space for them to sit back and enjoy the hot air balloons…

The grounds are opened to members of the general public and there are supposed to be balloons grounded and displayed for a longer period of time for all to enjoy, but sadly, I chose the wrong time and day to attend it, so did not have that opportunity…

There was even a Night Glow event where visitors were allowed to walk amongst the balloons with some lively upbeat music in the background… as well as a spectacular fireworks display…

What I got to enjoy was of course, watching kids playing zorb balls, reverse bungee , horse ridings and petting zoo/feeding animals corner…

It was also interesting checking out the Indonesian pavilion where there were Jamu served, upside down 3D photo backdrops, Bali rice terrace 3 D photo backdrop, and I think, some cultural shows…

Visitors also left their wishlist of places in Indonesia they wanted to visit… with a chance to possibly win one…

Then there were food trucks-  including Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Krispy Kreme- and plenty of delicious food at the Foodgasm Food Zone to satisfy even the most discerning tastebuds.. My daughter had some beefballs with black pepper sauce and cheese , while I had some Honey Popping drink… We also had some Fruitlato… that came in a variety of delicious flavours..

So despite not getting the chance to get up close with the Hot Air Balloons, I still manage to have a pretty good time with my daughter for a bit before having to send her back to her university before it got too dark…

Maybe I will be luckier and get a chance to see them in their full glory next time and perhaps even a ride in one….huhuhu…
