Yours truly was over at the V E Hotel & Residence at Bangsar South to check out their exciting offerings for the upcoming holy month, and boy did they impress us with an assortment of Arabian selections and local favourites that highlights the unique blend of Malaysia’s cultural flavours in their all-day dining restaurant, The Straits Estate.
You can definitely be expecting a line-up of alluring dishes at The Straits Estate prepared by a team of chefs led by Executive Sous Chef, Unaver Unabia inspired by both regions’ rich melting pot of cultures from 29th May to 23rd June 2017.
Chef Unaver, who actually comes from Sabah, will showcase his extensive knowledge of Arabian specialties with a home-grown passion for traditional Malaysian foods in the ‘Straits & Arabian Bazaar’ spread this year.
Chef Unaver’s food philosophy results in a specially curated Bazaar menu that balances the wholesome character of popular Arabian delights with the particular relish that Malaysians find in their local specialties.
You can definitely be looking forward to sharing the ceremonial breaking of your fast with your love ones beginning with some hearty appetizers ranging from Hummus, Babaganoush, Moutabel, Fattoush Salad, Kerabu Pucuk Paku Dengan Udang Kering, Serunding Ayam dan Daging to name a few.
For your main course, be prepared to dig into the tender Lamb Shank Tagine, Lamb Ouzi, Kebab and Shish Taouk, classic street side flavour of Chicken Shawarma and wholesome tomato-based of Harira Soup available at the live action stalls by the poolside.
You will also be enjoying resplendent Malay dishes featuring succulent Kambing Golek and Ayam Golek marinated in traditional Kelantanese recipes, Malacca-style Kawah Kari Kepala Ikan and Ayam Percik Terengganu carved to perfection.
Seafood lovers will be spoilt with the wide selection of grilled seafood such as Whole Baked Ikan Tenggiri Bakar, Ikan Pari, Ikan Tongkol, Ikan Cincaru and so much more.
