Chakri Palace, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants has always been synonymous to Royal Thai Cuisine in KL. Since it opened its doors back in 1999 in Suria KLCC, the restaurant has thrived and is now proudly celebrating its 18th Anniversary..

Chakri Palace celebrated its 18th Anniversary a few weeks ago with an Appreciation Soiree for its VIP and loyal customers that have been supporting the brand for all these years. The VIP guests included Chef Wan, H.E. the Ambassador of Italy, H.E. the Ambassador of Switzerland, COO of Suria KLCC Mr Francis Tan, Tan Sri Tang, Dato Lawrence, Dato Denny Tan, Dato James, Dato Hamzah, Dato Flora Tan and many more.


Guests indulged themselves with an array of Thai delicacies including Phad Thai Porpia Goong (Phad Thai Prawn In Spring Roll), Gai Hor Bai Toey (Pandan Leaves Chicken), Thod Mun Pla (Thai Fish Cake) and many more!

The live action stall was a crowd favourite, since it was just so fascinating seeing the chefs making ‘Som Tam’, the Thai papaya salad and a special coconut dessert ‘Kanom Krok’ which is only found in the north region of Bangkok.

In addition to Thai flavours, the company also showcased their specialties from the other brands under their umbrella including Sanoook (Thai-Japanese) in Pavilion , Shinjuku (Japanese) in the Curve and Rainforest (Italian) in Sunway Pyramid.

Some highlights were Tuna Sushi with Tomyam Sauce, Mini Sushi Burger with Green Curry Sauce, Ebiten Roll With Hot Chili Sauce, Bruchetta Con Pomodori & Smoked Salmone Canape.

It was truly a super tantalising and tempting variety provided by the Chakri Group showcasing their strengths not only in Thai cuisine but also international cuisine.


Managing Director and Founder Dato Garry Chua who is also currently the president of MRCA paid tribute to the shopping mall for being such a supportive partner and also to corporate customers like Petronas, Maxis, Suria KLCC team for their many years of patronage.

After a cake cutting and toast, guests were treated to another surprise as there were many rounds of lucky draw prizes and cash vouchers amounting to RM2,500 which were given away to lucky winners.

Even those who did not get their numbers called out were equally lucky as every one walked away with a goodie bag of Chakri’s signature Miengkam sauce, a Sanoook Mango salad jar and number of vouchers for the group’s other restaurants.


Chakri Palace has proven over all these years that it a brand that has both heritage and commitment to excellence in food quality and customer service. Its team of chefs are all from Thailand and many have been with the company since its early days.

Consistency and loyalty are two key words that the brand practices and is strong contributor to the success of Chakri. The flagship outlet is located in Suria KLCC whereas their second outlet is located Level 4, Connection, Pavilion KL.
