Saloma Theatre Restaurant is housed in a very pretty colonial architecture building that  would bring to mind a perfect, cosy ‘residence’. I just remember the first time I was there, years before.. I was kind of at awe at how pretty the place was…

It consists of a high-ceiling and commanding Theatre restaurant, a pretty airy Lounge and a cosy little Bistro which is perfect for smaller private events overlooking the totally relaxed Courtyard. Each space makes an ideal venue to hold any seminars, press conferences, event launches, wedding dinners, etc.

It is open daily from 11.00 am – 10.30 pm daily and just one of the places both locals and tourists come to indulge in some gastronomic delights, one where wonderful aromas and flavours beckon.

Strategically located in the Golden Triangle. The restaurant within the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) is the ideal one stop centre convenient for tourists .

For the coming Ramadan, Saloma Theatre Restaurant’s impressive culinary team led by Chef Dzulkarnain Salleh, Chef Azizah Abdul Malik and Chef Zamshah Haji Ismail have lined up ‘home favourites’ for the upcoming nightly Ramadan buffet dinner (May 27 – June 24, 2017).

Yours truly was among the lucky  few who got to savour first hand how delicious those  authentic kampung dishes were… The chefs’ combined efforts to turn their own best family recipes into the irresistible dishes .

Do not miss to savour favourites like daging masak hitam, ikan patin masak tempoyak, ayam masak lemak, kari kepala ikan/fish head curry, ketam goreng berlada, pajeri terung, rendang tok and more.

Psst… do not forget to take that roti and dip it into the kari kepala ikan curry… it is just heavenly..

The setting of gerai-gerai (stalls) at the lounge area will definitely be a hit with diners. Amongst the dishes served are laksa Johor, one of the crowd’s favourite – Stesen Goreng-Goreng with fried samosa, sweet potato and goreng pisang/ banana fritters, delicious ikan bakar, sotong bakar, udang bakar served with dipping sauces, roti john and kambing bakar/roast lamb.

I personally also love the ikan bakar/sotong bakar/udang bakar /bbq grill fish/squid and prawns.. the seafood is very fresh and the dipping sauces just right…I recommend the black soya sauce with chilli type of dipping sauce..

There will be three (3) rotation menus and each one will feature more than 60 mouth-watering delicacies from soups, salads, hot dishes, hawker style favourites to sweet temptations.

Apart from the kampung style dishes, diners can sample the best of Chinese, Indian, Iranian dishes too.
