There is always something about The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur that makes it stand out from being just one of the city hotels , and somehow every time I find myself at the hotel, I feel my breath catch as my eyes take in the elaborate landscaped porte cochère and also the many handcrafted wooden design elements which are discretely located throughout the hotel. It has been said that these handcrafted wood are all rainforest timbers that have been sustainably sourced from Malaysian forests and sculpted by local artisans.
The hotel design brings to mind a traditional royal palace of years gone by… probably during the time of Hang Tuah and his friends… yet the interior is a mix of contemporary and Malay traditional luxuries.
The hotel is situated along Jalan Conlay which is quite a serene area as well, but close enough to the most popular malls around KL, namely Pavilion and even KLCC . Surrounding this road however are all the busy streets and the most happening places in KL. It takes approximately about 5-10 minutes to walk to Pavilion or Bukit Bintang or even KLCC
I was invited there to try out the array of scrumptious dishes prepared by Executive Chef Sobri Soid and his team which will be available at the 1001 Santapan Rakyat Iftar Buffet at Warisan Cafe in The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, this coming Ramadan… and we got to indulge in those super mouth watering dishes at the posh Bunga Emas Restaurant…, which is actually a Malay fine dining restaurant…
Stepping into the Bunga Emas Restaurant was already such a treat for the eyes.. it was just so regal and I could just envision royalty and VVIPs dining there… I just loved the paintings and low subtle wall lighting that blend in beautifully with ornate woodwork and falling or is it dangling gold leaves…
We indulged and I strongly recommend you not to miss out on these yummy signature dishes… Asam Pedas Tempoyak Haruan, Den Deng Cili Rangup, Udang Nestum, Phad Thai, Otak-Otak Wellington, which will be served at live action stalls …
Then there is also assorted Kerabu, Ikan Bakar, Tandoori Tempayan, Kambing Golek, Aneka Buyung, Pulut and Lemang, Pasta, Gulai Kari Mambo, Bubur Lambuk Royale and more….
For those who has a sweet tooth, like yours truly here, the buffet is offering Chendol Durian, assortment of Bubur, Ais Kacang, Kuih Muih Traditional, Mini Donut, Apam Balik, Cakes, puddings, jellies and so on… I love their Lempeng Pisang/ Banana Pancake….
The dishes are all made from the freshest ingredients and there will be more than 100 over dishes from all over the country that will be sure to tempt your appetite, so just forget about dieting and indulge in the yummy spread…
