Sometimes, the hustle and bustle of life can be tiresome and make you long for some quiet ‘me’ time, or at least time away with your loved ones or partner…
It is definitely time to get away on a short break, just a couple of days or more to a serene destination… and what could be better is when your break is in a cool location… where you can also escape the humidity and sweltering heat of our Malaysian weather…
I love Genting Highlands, as there is just so much to see, indulge and do there from casinos –for non-Muslims, of course, to amazing world class theatre performances, concerts, and since the opening of the Sky Avenue, just so much to shop and eat….
But it can be pretty busy with throng of visitors there, too, from the very young to the elderly…. And there are just moments we seek serenity…
Yours truly was over at the Best Western Premier Ion Delemen which is nestled in the lush tropical rainforests of Genting Highlands in the state of Pahang, situated over 6,000 feet above sea level.
You can drive there but I wasn’t that confident of driving up in my little old Proton, so I took the Resorts World bus RM3.50 up to the Awana Skyway Station at Awana, and then enjoy a breathtaking scenic view ride up on the Skyway Cable Car for just RM8/per person…
If you want to have a romantic getaway and spectacular experience, you can actually park your car at the Awana Skyway Station where there are over 4000 car park bays, and bring your other half up there on the glass -floor gondola for RM50/per person which is slightly more expensive, but oh so worth it… The trip only take 10 minutes from the Skyway Station to the top floor of the Sky Avenue…
From there, my daughter and I headed to the First World Hotel where the complimentary shuttle service picked us up and took us to the Best Western Premier Ion Delemen, just a short 5km or 5 minutes away..
The Best Western Premier Ion Delemen definitely has the serenity needed for couples or business travellers wanting peace and quiet…
My daughter and I checked into a one-bedroom suite, and it was gorgeous… we really could not stop ourselves from oohing and ahhing when we pulled the suite window curtains open to a magnificent panoramic view of the Titiwangsa mountain range.
Our suite was just perfect for the two of us, being spacious with a beautiful living room, and kitchenette, a cosy bedroom and two bathrooms…It is evident that a lot of care and thought has been put into creating this space…
Besides, the one-bedroom suite I have here, in total, there are about 246 rooms, consisting of deluxe and one-bedroom suites, as well as two- and three-bedroom suites for larger groups….all said to be designed around the five “Feng Shui” elements; Water, Earth, Wood, Metal and Fire and mostly feature a private balcony.
It is certainly a surreal feeling waking up and taking in spectacular and breathtaking views the Titiwangsa Mountain Range, one of the world’s oldest rainforest.
All rooms comes with modern amenities including flat-screen TVs, international power outlets and complimentary Wi-Fi… my suite came with also a refrigerator in the kitchenette, a dining table, sofas, dressing gowns, an iron and an ironing board…..
Anyway, the Best Western Premier Ion Delemen also comes with indoor and outdoor event and meeting venues, the resort offers a tranquil base from which guests can put together corporate events, group retreats as well as social gatherings. The Grand Delemen Ballroom can sit up to 400 people in banquet style with a stage or even up to 600 people in theatre style… or it can be divided up into 4 separate meeting rooms, the Delemen 1, 2, 3 and 4, accommodating about 80-200 people per room- depending on the room….
There is also a glorious sky garden with a children’s play area, which I half mistook for a swimming pool… LOL…but which was only some fountain pond…
My daughter and I definitely could not get enough of the heated salt water swimming pool
How can we not when the pool is just perfectly warm and heavenly to be in….
For some adrenaline rush, be sure to try out the Flying Fox and Challenge Course as well as do some Rock Climbing…It will be an unforgettable moment for just RM60nett per person…
It was definitely both my daughter and my first time doing the Flying Fox and Challenge Course, and it definitely will not be my last…..
If you are a fitness enthusiast or gym bunny or just want to try out the gym, you will definitely not be disappointed with the fully-equipped fitness center, that comes with some pretty macho fitness instructors, too, so you can ‘cuci mata’ while working out, heheh…
Oh ya… if you are wondering how macho they are check out the pics of my daughter above doing her Flying Fox and Challenge Course… hehehe
Being inactive in the gym for such a long while, my fitness instructors put me through a training regimen that left my muscles screaming/aching for a few days…
To sweat out further, do remember to head to the sauna in the mens’ or ladies changing room area….
There is also a spa that will be opened soon in the future…..
As for dining, fret not, the Best Western Premier Ion Delemen serves up a plethora of tantalizing gastronomical choices from both the Kembali Kitchen as well as Hugos in the Sky, which I will share in another post….
Recently I posted on what was one of the hotels with the best view, well, this is just another unforgettable hotel with the view to die for… a view of the Titiwangsa Mountain Range… I definitely got my fill of it being covered with clouds, mist and rain as well as on a breathtakingly beautiful and clear day…
Naturally, guests at the Best Western Premier Ion Delemen can easily access the Resorts World Genting via the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service that operates every 3 hourly or so…. From 9am to 9pm….
For those of you interested, you can actually join the Best Western Ion Delemen Exclusive Membership- Privilege in the Sky for just RM788…
For just RM788, as a Privilege in the Sky member, you will be enjoying one complimentary stay at the Deluxe Room, one complimentary stay at the One-Bedroom suite, Buffet lunch or dinner for 2 at Kembali Kitchen, one bottle of wine or sparkling juice, one complimentary pizza at Hugos in the Sky, one birthday cake, and a lot of other discounts and preferential sevices….
And psst…. it might just be an amazing investment when the 20th Century Fox theme park opens end of this year or early next year…. as you do not have to worry about where to stay when that happens…. don’t say I did not tell you… yaaa… hahah
