Fans of anime and manga will definitely not want to miss this.. Yeah.. ‘ONE PIECE’, one of Japan’s most popular manga is now having an exhibition up until 18 October at ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur, Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur..
The popular manga series which started serializing in ‘Weekly Shonenjump’ magazine in 1997 had become one of the most popular manga series ever and well loved in Asia, Europe, USA and other various countries around the world. As a new adventure to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series, Malaysia was chosen to be the first location of the exhibition that will focus on the Straw Hat Pirates and their awesome leader, Monkey. D. Luffy.
The best news I have would be the entrance fee for the exhibition is priced at only RM15 (or RM25 if you opt for the exclusive VR experience).
You really have to fork out the extra RM10 for go for the whole One Piece VR experience since it has been specially created and drawn and it will enable you to slip into the mind of Eiichiro Oda, and see how the ONE PIECE characters are drawn and brought to life by the author.. This Virtual Reality content is shown for the first time in the world, so it is a must for any ONE PIECE, manga or anime fan…
Kids under the age of four can enter free but with one guardian or parent…
In case you do not know it, ONE PIECE is a high seas adventure manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It is a story of Luffy, who can stretch his body like rubber after eating the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit. Luffy forms the Straw Hat Pirates with his friends and they go on an adventure to become the Pirate King by finding the mysterious treasure known as ONE PIECE.
This story has made it Japan’s most iconic manga and as of today, the 86 volumes have sold over 350 million copies in Japan alone…
The exhibition will introduce many various colour illustrations, a replica of Eiichiro Oda’s desk at his workplace, and contains content specially curated for this exhibition..
Of course, you really should not forget to grab some of the One Piece merchandise such as t-shirts, plush toys, stationeries and other items they have on sale outside as well..
