Fans of Japanese superhero series Ultraman should be thrilled to find out that the first ever Ultra Heroes Official Shop & Restaurant is now opened in Glo Damansara, Malaysia..
Ultraman is a Japanese tokusatsu science fiction television series created by Eiji Tsuburaya and produced by Tsuburaya Productions and was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) since July 17, 1966.
Ultraman was the first series feature an Ultra-Hero, but it was actually the second show in the Ultra Series with Ultra Q being the first. Ultraman eventually went on to become a major pop culture phenomenon in Japan with its ultra-heroes protecting the world and battling off a myriad of ultra monsters., spawning dozens of sequels, spin-offs, imitators, parodies and remakes to become one of the most iconic superhero figures for children across the world in th 70s, 80s and even now…
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the superhero series, Malaysian company Circle Corp decided to collaborate with Tsuburaya Productions from Japan to open the first ever “Ultraman” official shop and restaurant in Glo Damansara…
It is here at this world’s first Ultra Heroes official shop and restaurant in Glo Damansara which is about 4000 sq ft, where you can find about 300 different types of Ultra Heroes products, from t-shirts, towels, pens, books, files, bags, story books in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese, etc..
Do not miss out on the 65 special edition 45cm silver figurines of Ultraman which will be on display, these figurines are not for sale, but you can admire them and take selfies or pictures with them..
The food is reasonably good and might be worth a check out, but to be honest, yours is kind of disappointed by the restaurant as other then a wall mural or two, there wasn’t any thing that told me it was a themed restaurant.
You can indulge in Japanese and Western dishes that includes cute bentos, curry rice, and kid sets. The menu is halal, so feel free to tuck in to the highly recommended “Ultraman Tiga Burger” as well as the “Dark Baltan Burger” as well…
I probably have a different perception and expectation as I thought and half expected it to be a lot more themed.. from tables , design of the restaurants as well as food presentation, something like the DC Superheroes cafe, or Hello Kitty cafe…
However, you can look forward to the different characters of Ultra Heroes making their special appearances in the restaurant to interact with customers every week.. and, yes, you can easily access the Ultra Heroes official shop and restaurant by taking the MRT to TTDI station and walk there… it’s a less then 5 minutes walk… I know because I walked there… heheh
