It is a great place for diners who enjoys creative good food such as Red Velvet Pancakes, Quinoa & Black Bean Burger etc.. Yours truly here was there to try out some of the dishes, and I have to admit I love each and everyone of what I had… even when the name sounded somewhat scary like a Fear Factor dare… like the Chicken & Waffles, and the Ginger- Curry Milkshake…

Other interesting menu we dared and indulged our tastebuds in would be the…

Prime Rib Egg Rolls, RM19 – mince prime rib meat made into spring rolls and served with caramelized onions, pickled vegetables, horseradish aioli and cheddar cheese…it is somewhat like your favorite ‘murtabak’ with a much better twist.. you really have to try it to enjoy it as the explosion of flavours in your mouth is just amazing…

Roasted Chicken & Avocado Flatbread, RM27 – it is very much like a pizza, with mozzarella cheese, artichoke aioli, roasted tomatoes and caramelized onions piled on top of the flatbread with generous chicken slices and avocadoes…

Oven Baked Pizza Dip, RM25 – imagine crispy on the outside and soft on the inside garlic focaccia bread, which you can dip into a combination of buffalo mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan cheeses and a few bits or slices of beef pepperoni in the mixture…

Mac & Cheese, RM15 – made from orecchiette pasta, in cheddar cheese fondue that is not too overly cheesy.. I loved the combination…

Salmon & Zoodles, RM59 – this is a very fascinating and healthy dish where the zoodles are made up of zucchini and asparagus and the rest of the dish consist of a generous chunk of salmon and sweet red peppers, green apples, feta cheese and pistachio Romesco sauce..really good and highly recommended for those who are on a diet…or even if you are not, it is just superb…

Chicken & Waffles, RM36 – I was cringing with the idea of having savoury waffles but you know what.. this was really, really good. The portion is very generous, so you might want to share this.. but I swear, one bite of the chicken, and you will be hooked… the chicken was just perfectly marinated to perfection…and the agave syrup made the dish lovely…. and not cloyingly sweet… I would so order this again…

Ribeye, RM69 – I loved this steak.. it was really perfectly done the Tony Roma’s way, and served with Tony Roma-like mashed potatoes and some roasted okra… yup…. will order this for my girl.. she would so love this…

Oven Roasted 1/2 Chicken, RM34 – the chicken is marinated with a lemon spice rub, and is served with brocolli spears and some pumpkin basmati rice… I know I am not suppose to say this, but, I cannot lie… it does taste like yummy nasi briyani… but the healthier version since it is made with pumpkin…. and yes, highly recommended… One of my favorites too… and yes, you have to share unless you have an American appetite, it’s 1/2 a chicken, for crying out loud…

Beachside Therapy

…and well, you really should try some of the handcrafted mocktails.. I did and I cannot get enough of it… even the Fear Factor one…. they are so pretty to look at and also so yummy as well…

Ginger-Curry Milkshake, RM17 –  the name sounds challenging and scary, but it is actually quite yummy, and a good way to expel ‘wind’ from the body. It consists of ginger, curry, whipped cream and candied ginger, so you will have a gingery taste milkshake with just a very, very mild curry taste, which is almost not there…

Toasted Marshmallow Float, RM18 – I loved this… this drink consist of imported Stewart’s Root beer and vanilla ice cream, with whipped cream on top.. and of course, toasted marshmallows…

Cucumber Strawberry Freeze, RM17 – think slurpee, but with blended fresh cucumber, fresh lemon and lime juices with frozen pureed strawberry served with a nice juicy red strawberry on top…

For dessert selection, I simply loved the Chocolate Mayhem, RM26 – with a small volcano chocolate cake with gula melaka/coconut caramel sauce, chocolate mousse, chopped snickers chocolate pieces, dark chocolate espresso beans and served with coffee and chocolate ice cream… simply decadent, sinful and every chocolate lover’s dream come true…

…and the White Chocolate Cheesecake, RM12 – served with blackberry sauce, a perfect ending for cheese lovers out there…

My opinion… the food is really good, so you have to come and try it… and for your information, TR Fire Grill serves steaks that are 100 percent all-natural beef, with no antibiotics, hormones or GMOs. The robust and authentic fresh sauces and condiments are all made in-house, so you can be sure what you eat is all safe and healthy…

And in my opinion, the prices for the dishes are really reasonable and well worth it…

  1. I’ve not eaten at Tony Roma’s yet because I don’t think it’s any special. However, I really wish to have a meal here. The dishes look mouth-watering and the view must be relaxing, so high above.
