PRIME CITY HOTEL , KLUANG, JOHOR

The Colours of Lives Travelogue Malaysia team put up at the oldest and tallest hotel in Kluang when we were there in Kluang for our visit there…

The Prime City Hotel was established back in 1996, and is a prime spot in town. After all, it is hard to miss the tall building which is located at the river side, nor the bright blue signage at the top of the hotel building …

Because of the ample hotel’s facilities, Prime City Hotel is naturally the choice of venue for many commercial and social activities happening in Kluang town. There were even graduation and ‘convocation’ for pre schoolers while we were there… Kids nowadays… I never even got such a chance in my life… when I finished kindergarten, the graduation was at the kindergarten, not some hotel or so…

The hotel’s facilities and services includes free Wi-Fi in all rooms, 24-hour reception, facilities for disabled guests, luggage storage, Wi-Fi in public areas, swimming pool, sauna, spa, massage  etc.

You can find comfortable guestrooms for a good night’s sleep with some of the 211 assorted rooms featuring facilities such as internet access – wireless, air conditioning, desk, mini bar, balcony/terrace.. Prime City Hotel is an excellent choice from which to explore Kluang or to simply relax and rejuvenate.

The rooms here are slightly old fashioned in my opinion, if you were to compare them with the newer hotels, but nevertheless luxuriously furnished and comes with TV, WIFI and all the others accoutrements you would expect of a deluxe hotel.

You can choose from Family Deluxe, Superior, or Standard rooms for cozy stay to Budget rooms for budget travelers.

Or if you are looking for a little more luxury, be sure to check out the two types of suites there at the Prime City Hotel. These suites are located at seven different floors, and each floor houses one of each suite named after the hotel, the Prime Suite and the City Suite.

I was lucky to be able to enjoy staying in the Prime Suite with Wawa, the officer from Tourism Malaysia and she was delighted with the space.. which was humongous… We had a king sized bed, sofas, two tables, and could have had a party there for up to 12 people… hahaha.. even the bathroom was huge… and came with a built in bath ..

The bed was very comfortable and so was the room… Only problem was that the water heater does take a while before it heats up… so patience ….

We had a lovely view of Kluang town from the balcony of our room as well…

And here is another different room, the Family Deluxe room, I think… which my team mates were staying in.. it is about half the size of the Prime Suite but pretty spacious too with two queen sized beds in it…

The swimming pool is nice, but again, from a city dweller’s point of view, not too impressive, but it serves the purpose if you need a dip there…

We had dinner there at the Bistari Cafe and Restaurant which was having a promotion for their nasi padang, and you’ll be surprised at how tasty the nasi padang is actually and how affordable too…

Since we were into our 3rd day, we needed to do some laundry, and well, fyi, there is a self service laundry just right across the road from the hotel, so it is very convenient to wash and dry your clothes too…

And another thing we found was that… you actually get newspapers here in the morning… heheheh… I mean, nowadays you either get free newpapers like Sun or a memo asking you to check out news online… but the Prime City Hotel actually gives you a copy of the main stream newspaper, Utusan, Star… straight to your room…

Breakfast is complimentary at the Bistari Cafe and is just basic food, so again, do not expect a luxurious fare like what you might get in the big cities… and it is also quite tasty…
