Miss Shophia Shopping Hunt 2.0

Over the weekend yours truly was in Kuala Lumpur early morning to join in the Miss Shophia Shopping Hunt 2.0 campaign with my partner in crime who is also my mini me..

An impressive 600 participants participated in this shopping hunt made up of 150 teams of four.. my team member was not complete so we were almost disqualified but last minute, Syafikh, one of the Tourism Malaysia officers allowed me to join another team who also did not have enough team members… so it was me, my mini me, Michelle and Francis that made up team 2 or Marmalade…

The Miss Shophia Shopping Hunt 2.0 was in conjunction with promoting shopping in Malaysia as well as introduce the country’s digital shopping icon, Miss Shophia…

We were flagged off at 10am, and most of us rushed helter skelter to the nearest malls Suria KLCC or Pavilion…

..Before heading on to Avenue K, Fahrenheit 88, Plaza Low Yat, Sungei Wang, Sogo Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Putra Mall, Sunway Velocity Mall, Lot 10 and Central Market — before heading to the final stop and check in counter at MyTown Shopping Centre right at the dot of 4pm or risk disqualification…

The shopping hunt was basically racing against time to collect as many points as they can after answering some questions about the mall and taking pictures at check points and getting 5 likes on Facebook before we were allowed to pass through…

It was slightly annoying as we were practically spamming our facebook pages and begging friends to like our pictures so that we could move on…

Besides that, we were only allowed to travel on foot or the Mass Rapid Transport (MRT), Light Rail Transport (LRT), Monorail and buses…

The winning team who called themselves Mall Ratz, consisted of Chai Koh Khai, Claire Chin, Lim Ming Yang and Sin Yoong Leong won themselves RM4,000 in cash with another RM2,000 Boost-Axiata digital e-wallet app.

On the other hand, my team was one of  the media group winners…taking home the 3rd place.

Overall, it was a tiring event and my calculation tagged my steps for 20k on my exercise app.. and there was sadly no food served…so we were pretty hungry when we arrived at MyTown Shopping Centre…

However it was still a fun excursion in some ways…
