When the sun goes down and rat race quiets down in the cosmopolitan city of Kuala Lumpur, the city slows down a little…

Recently, yours truly and her Influenzas friends were over at MaTiC to get a sneak peek preview of My Town Night Ride which was hosted by www.mikebikes.my

We were over at MaTiC at 8pm for the mini tour with MikeBikes…

Owned by Dutch partners Mike Janssen and Maurice Janssen (and no, they are not brothers), MikeBikes offers tourists a different kind of journey through the fascinating and authentic Kuala Lumpur both during the day and in the evening..

MikeBikes will take you on an unforgettable adventure through a hidden authentic Kuala Lumpur, where a melting pot of points of interest, local markets, smells and locals can be found on quality, Dutch grandmother orange bicycles that comes equipped with hand brakes and 3 gears…

These bicycles are imported from Netherlands are the modern evolution of the Dutch grandmother bicycle and each bicycle has different sizes frames and adjustable saddles.

At the start of the tour you will get a bottle of water and an experienced, local English or Dutch speaking guide will bring you around… For groups of 5 to 6 people, there will be 2 guides will accompanying the group…

The Influenzas team, consisting of Faiz, Ivan and Kay were then given an orange safety vest to put on before the start of the tour…

Joining in for the My Town Night Ride event were none other then Maria Tunku Sabri, Balkisy Khan (Atul Mokcun), Chef Fikrie, Lis Dawati and En Zain Azrai, Director of Matic….

From MaTiC, the Influenzas team followed the group all the way to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Sogo, Dataran Merdeka /Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Masjid Jamek and the Blue Pool/River of Life then to Petaling Street (China Town), Central Market and back to Jalan P Ramlee where they stopped for some refreshments.

Along the way to MaTiC, they experienced the city night life along Jalan P Ramlee to KLCC to the end of journey.

Overall it was a good evening workout on bicycles while making new friends as well and drinking in the night sights of Kuala Lumpur from a totally different perspective….
