Hotel Review 2018 – Grand Ion Delemen, Genting Highlands

When my team and I arrived at the Ion Delemen, we were all hungry… so we headed to Kembali Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant which was located on the top floor of the main lobby building…

Kembali Kitchen was definitely a welcome sight, it was bright in creamy white tones and modern… with glass windows which were however covered with paper or curtains… If it wasn’t covered you could look out into the rolling green hills on a nice day or watch the mist cover the hills, or on a fine day, it might be a bit too much as the sun would be a little to glaring I think…

Kembali Kitchen serves up local favourites, Chinese dishes and also international flavours…

Our stay began with some hearty dishes that satisfy both our sights, palates and our stomach..

And thus began our little getaway trip at the Genting Ion Delemen….

The Genting Ion Delemen is located up in the hills of Pahang.. Genting Highlands to be precise…

It has about 246 deluxe rooms and one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites… to choose from and suit your needs…

Happily sated with good food, we made our way to the lobby to check in…we got a 3 room apartment…and it was in the building in front of the main reception building…

We got to our apartment and opened the door to a generous open living area with a kitchen and 3 bedrooms… We are all practically brothers and sister… so I took the master bedroom that came with a king bed with its ensuite bathroom with my daughter while my team chose their room mates and took over the other two bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and another with a queen bed…

The curtains in living room open up to a small balcony with impressive views of the Banjaran Titiwangsa hills… There is a L-shaped sofa there where we all hang out and played Boggle and card games…

The dining area near the little kitchen seats four… You can purchase your snacks and beverages from the convenience store located near the hotel’s lobby.

After getting comfortable.. one of the team, decided to go and utilise the 24-hour fitness centre… we followed suit deciding to explore the place..

At about 1,800metres above sea level, the Ion Delemen offers plenty of amenities to keep you occupied even when you are there just to unwind and relax…

There’s a gorgeous warm salt water pool that looks like it belongs in the future but it looks out to the Amber Court apartment..

For those who love to challenge their limits or see how you can get over your fear of trust or heights, there is a small but still pretty challenging flying fox/zip line and high rope challenge, 24-hour fitness centre that comes with a steam room and sauna and meeting rooms for those on business stays…

You can get complimentary WiFi (fast and stable too) in the lobby and rooms should you need to do your work, update your social media or so on…

Oh yes.. I forgot, they have a pretty great little wellness centre as well where you can let yourself get lulled away under the skillful hands of one of the massage therapists… or well get those aches and pains massaged away…

Complimentary shuttle service is provided from the Ion Delemen to First World Hotel, which is about 10 minutes away… so if you need to do shopping or need more entertainment or food…there is a whole load of shopping, playing, gambling (if you are non Muslim) and non stop entertainment you can get or do there…

Kembali Kitchen offers a wide variety of items for buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meanwhile, Hugo’s In The Sky serves Mediterranean food in a more intimate setting. Will write more about food at Kembali and Hugos in my next post or so…

Overall, the Grand Ion Delemen is a great place to spend a couple of days, recharge yourself or hang out with family or friends and enjoy the gorgeous cool altitude weather as well as the breathtaking sight of rolling green hills millions of years old /the banjaran titiwangsa… and of course, the food at the outlets are really good too…
