One of the hotels I got to stay in during my trip to JB was none other then the Amari Johor Bahru….
The lovely hotel is conveniently nestled in the heart of Johor Bahru and is just directly opposite Komtar JBCC mall, and short walk to City Square, Persada Johor International Convention Centre and about 1/2 hour from Senai International Airport…
Originally from Thailand and expanding across Asia, the Amari brand name has a rich and long standing heritage and you can definitely find colours, textures, designs and flavours that incorporates Malaysian and Thai touches all around the hotel…
Amari Johor Bahru has friendly and hospitable staff who greets with a ready smile and warm service that makes you feel right at home with their warm hospitality and eagerness to help whenever we needed any assistance, something which is really rare even in the service line in Malaysia… but more of a Thai culture..
Guests are welcomed with their signature welcome drink, a mini garland of flowers and a nice cool towel upon checking in… now if that isn’t nice… I dont know what is…
I was lucky to get a super comfortable Deluxe room with 2 twin beds to myself.. The room was modern and stylishly furnished and I liked that it is quite spacious invoke a feeling of cosiness… And for those who can’t live without WiFi, the hotel offers good WiFi coverage
My bathroom was pretty spacious with all the basic amenities you can find in a hotel and the closet could be opened from both sides…
Amari Johor Bahru’s lobby is a social hub where guests can access the Amaya Cafe, Amaya Food Gallery, the Breeze Spa, the meeting rooms and ballroom as well as the Library which is like a business centre, the Idea Room as well as a cosy lounge area…
I love the outdoor swimming pool even if I barely had the time to take a dip because of out super back to back hectic FAM trip schedule..
They do however have lovely pool access rooms as well which you can just hopped straight inside the pool from your so called ‘balcony’….
For those who make keeping fit important in their life, like how I am trying to, the FIT centre/ gym is fully equipped with treadmills, gym machines, free weights (complete with full sized mirrors) as well gym towels… Just throw on some comfortablr clothing and get your sport shoes on and you’re good to go…
Like all Amari hotels the Breeze Spa is a must visit for a self pampering treatment. Choose from any of the 5 mood massages, curated especially for the most discerning travellers. They mood massages sounds perfectly heavenly as well – Dreamy, Serene, Rejuvenated, Invigorated and Energised…
By the way each stay comes with a breakfast buffet served at the Amaya Food Galley at level 6… and well, they do have a reasonably good and pretty yummy Thai buffet dinner served at night as well….
We had the most satisfying buffet dinner there prepared under the watchful eyes of Executive Sous Chef Kanokwan Pungjaroenkijkul or just Chef Gina….at the busy food market style diner…
I loved her Thai Green Curry, Gai Pad Mamuang (stir fried chicken ) and Phad Thai Goong…
