PJ’s Bar & Grill, New World Hotel PJ

I surely had a love affair with rooftops this week.. After Sean Lee’s laidback Atap Rooftop Cafe hangout.. I headed to another more posh and luxurious rooftop… hehehe….

In case you are wondering, I am talking about the 30th floor Rooftop venue of the very classy and stylish New World Hotel… Here at this rooftop, is the PJ’s Bar & Grill restaurant… as well as the hotel’s infinity swimming pool…

I had my besties who came over to help celebrate my special day join me for a sumptuous birthday dinner at the PJ’s Bar & Grill…

We could not resist the lure of it after our swim at the hotel pool…

Upon checking the place out, it was somewhat like a sports bar but well, probably it was because of World Cup season, with the staff dressed in football jerseys..

We decided to sit inside because of 2 reasons.. there was already a lot of people outside sitting at the Al Fresco area and it was already starting to drizzle…

The menu, on a wooden board consists of snacks, soups, seafood and meat and comes with some tempting desserts thrown in as well..

For non Muslims, the cocktails, wine and champagne list is also pretty impressive..

Anna, our server was friendly and helpful in recommending food for us..

Through her recommendation, we ordered the Crabmeat Spaghetti (RM35) – cooked with a combination of tomatoes, pinenuts and basil pesto sauce and generous helping of crabmeat… the spaghetti is pretty generous in serving size and good to share as well as seriously tasty…

We also ordered the Mixed Grill (RM101) , which Anna insisted and was right about was tasty and also good enough for sharing… comprising of Beef Tenderloin bits, Lamb Rump pieces and Chicken Sausages.. The meat was really good.. and my friends who did not quite like lamb because of the smell kinda took a liking to the Lamb pieces…

When we finished our dinner feeling just so satisfied – the feeling after a superb meal… Anna tempted us with some dessertd… and we ordered we the Classic Vanilla Crème Brûlée (RM35) which was served with a piece of biscotti… Loved the taste of the creme.. but I couldn’t help feeling I wpuld have preferred a thicker and slightly more crusty burnt sugar/caramelized top…

Chocolate Ganache Tart (RM33) that came served with mixed berries sauce at the side…

And we also had some homemade sherbet (RM26) – which came recommended in Olive Oil and Berries, and served with a generous Biscotti too…

The Olive Oil sherbet was really not bad.. ot tasted a lot like err… Coconut Ice Cream…The Berries sherbet was sourish because of berries… but also pretty yummy…..

Of course, when we finished our superb meal, we headed outside to check out the lovely view of PJ … and take some pictures…

So, if you are looking for a good meal and a nice place with great scenery… to chillax with your colleagues, best friends or to impress that special someone, this rooftop venue is really somewhere you should visit…..
