Since I was recently in Kuching, Sarawak after many years, I got to stay in 2 hotels and visit /inspect another 2 hotels… so am sharing with you all 4 of these hotels for your consideration should you be heading to Kuching and looking for a place to stay….
The Pullman Kuching
The Pullman Kuching is located in the heart of Kuching on the top of the hill at Mathias Road…
I got to stay here one night, (thanks to Tourism Productivity Nexus and MPC) and I loved the pretty panoramic view of the city I have to say, even though I had a little shock in the morning
(I slept with the curtains in the room opened, and I woke up to see the sun rising halfway up the sky…and was panicking and going ‘damn it… I’m late…’ , at least until I checked my watch… and found it was only 6.30am… lol)
The Pullman Kuching offers spacious and beautifully appointed rooms with full amenities as to be expected of a 5 star hotel, including a pool, a very well equipped gym (it’s huge), spa, bar and restaurant….
The Pullman Kuching is situated within walking distance from the riverfront as well as to a lot of restaurants, shops though I missed out on it since I was there late and barely had much time to check out the surroundings…
It has 389 spacious guest room of various types and styles…

Merdeka Palace Hotel
Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites is said to be the first 5 star hotel in Kuching, Sarawak… and it combines comfort with great hospitality….
It is very strategically located in the city centre and comes with 213 hotel rooms and apartment suites.
I was lucky to get a 2 room apartment suite which I shared with another blogger friend…it certainly was huge and spacious..
….and came with its own kitchenette..
I think there are six international F&B outlets here as well as a 24 hour room service…
The hotel comes with a health centre with fully equipped gymnasium, sauna and steam room, outdoor swimming pool (did not get a chance to go for it either but I saw it fron my apartment), and extensive banquet and conference facilities.
The hotel is close to the Plaza Merdeka Mall and walkibg distance to Chinatown and Kuching Waterfront… My friends and I walked to the mall for dinner and to the Kuching Waterfront for the breathtaking nightly musical fountain performance

Don’t be fooled by the small hotel, the rooms are all beautifully appointed and the only suite in the hotel is just as plush and luxurious as any 5 star hotel’s and so much more affordable…
