The idea was conceptualize while the owner of these creative homestay was backpacking in Europe, a place where many Prisons are now being transformed into luxury hotels due to low crime rates…

Prisons are often a place to lock up criminals and bad people… but have you realised many great leaders who changed the world such as Mathama Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi and even Anwar Ibrahim have served prison term due to their political conflict by the ruling party… which make prison curiously attractive…. some are attracted by the morbidity, or how famous criminals have been locked away there… some probably go there for ghost hunting or ghost sightings while some other just want a change in their lives from the normal mundane rat race….

And because of the latter… my daughter and me along with two good friends of mine checked into Escapade Staycation Prison Homestay – The Mamertine Prison of Rome…

Located at the Pinnacle Kelana Jaya, Escapade Staycation Prison Homestay are designed and named after some famous prisons of the world…

2) The La Santé Prison Of Paris
3) The Grand Royal Towel Of London
4) The Mamertine Prison of Rome (the one my friends, my daughter and I stayed in…)

The Escapade Staycation Prison Homestay are duplex rooms, ranging between 850 – 1012 sqft with large windows overlooking Kelana Jaya…

The duplex comes with 1 queen bed and one bathroom on the 1st floor and 2 single beds on the ground floor…

It also has a little kitchenette, with an induction cooker, a microwave, a dining table with dining sets, hot water kettle and a spacious living room…

The whole loft is very cosy and comfortable and what we like about it was that it is located just 200 meters or a mere 5 mins short walk to the one of the largest mall in PJ – none other then the Paradigm Mall – where you can find many restaurants as well as shops there.. we went for a movie there in the evening too….

From Paradigm Mall, you can board the FREE shuttle bus to bring you to the Kelana Jaya LRT which leads to every where else in KL or even take the airport shuttle bus from Paradigm mall to KLIA or KLIA2….

Just for your info, it is just barely 15 mins away to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park & Sunway Pyramid too and you can also just order a Grab to bring you there if you are not driving…

There are a few cafes and restaurants around the Pinnacle Kelana Jaya including the famous Teddy Bear restaurant, Chinese restaurant and 24 hours mamak (indian muslim).. as well as a little sundry shop and hair saloon….

The Escapade Staycation Prison Hotel Rooms does not come with a swimming pool and gym but you have the option of using the huge public Olympic size swimming pool which is a mere 5 mins walk from the Suites (RM3/entry). as well as the 24 hour- Cobra Gym which is a few steps away from the Pinnacle Kelana Jaya lobby (RM15/entry)
