Hotel Review 2019 – OYO 517 Aladdin Dream Hotel, Masai, Johor Bahru

I was kind of in a hurry to get a budget room stay since it was kind of a last minute thing when my trip to Pattaya got postponed and my best friend invited me to tag along to Johor Bahru when I stumbled Aladdin Dream Hotel in my OYO apps…

The Aladdin Dream Hotel is located in the district of Masai, Johor offering 46 rooms at a very reasonable price as low as RM38 / night… Which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel besides the fact it was just not too far away from Eco Tropics where my best friend had some work to do…

It was also kind of amusing that the name was Aladdin and well, we all just watched the latest Aladdin movie in cinemas right…but anyway we booked the hotel…

We arrived late since we started our trip about 5pm from KL after my best friends finished their regular dayjobs…

And the hotel looked pretty nice… I mean when you are a little on a tight budget, you cannot expect your hotel to be 5 star standards right… But still it was cosy and have chandeliers and even a foosball table

Strangely despite its name, there was barely anything Arabic or middle Eastern about the hotel, but it was a nice hotel, surpassing my expectations..

Occupying two whole shop lots, the hotel had a reception, a seating area and even vending machines for food, drinks and additional amenities (toothbrush, shampoo etc)…

The rooms were cosy, comfortable and Johor-themed, and came with one or two huge photo frames of tourist attractions for each district, done to introduce the state to visitors from Johor, outside Johor or even overseas visitors…

I liked that each room was fully furnished with premium furniture, LCD television and air conditioning, as well as a bathroom with shower.. I got myself the Double Deluxe rooms…

This one here is the family suite which is just perfect for 4 pax.

The only thing I did not like about this hotel was the waxed flooring… Which tends be a little slippery when wet… So when you just exit the toilet, be careful… Other then that, I have absolutely no complains….

There is a Co-op shop just next to the hotel as well as a restaurant and laundry… It’s definitely very convenient and everything a traveler on the go needs can be found here…
