Over the weekend my other 3/4 of the MIDZ* family decided to head to Sungai Petani… This was to visit Dayat’s parents and celebrate the festive month of Syawal or Raya with them…

We decided to stay at the Cinta Sayang Resort there in Sungai Petani since it was recommended by a friend…

Cinta Sayang Resort is indeed a lovely resort with the tagline of ‘Stay, Play, Eat, Meet’… As what I was told and what I found out after checking in… And it is also the best honeymoon hotel in Sungai Petani….

Cinta Sayang Resort offers a total of 99 resort rooms and suites in a variety of accommodations from chalets, terrace homes in the sky /sky residences that is cosy and affordable priced…

Here is a peek at one of the Sky Residences 3 bedroom apartment that you can book for just  RM420 per night…

We got to stay at the resort’s renovated Deluxe rooms which was simply modern, bright and eye-catching… The rooms were equipped with a cosy and comfortable bed with a colourful zebra at the head board, 40” flat screen TV’s, en-suite bathroom with standing shower, minibar and twin-beds or a king sized bed….

There is also the Rajawali Suite or Honeymoon Suite which is simply gorgeous and unbelievably affordable… I swear I expected the room to cost 2x or 3x what it was….

The Rajawali Suite is a huge and spacious room perfect for a newly married couple or visiting VIPs… The room is beautiful, comes with a kitchenette and bar, a bedroom and has a bath tub in the en-suite bathroom…

Cinta Sayang Resort comes with two F&B outlets, Chips & Bites, which is turned into a retro bar from 3pm, and the CS Cafe that serves pretty great Ala Carte dishes… I truly loved the chocolate milkshake and Cantonese stir fry with egg sauce which I ordered…

The resort is also like a second home to many golfers in the northern region as they like to hang around at Chips & Bites after a round of golf to relax with friends.

The resort also has a water park known as The Carnivall Waterpark… featuring Boomerang Falls, Tornado Twist, Tsunami Wave, Mushroom Fall, Splash Mansion, Twister and Caribbean Cruise River which is naturally popular during the school holidays and weekend.. This is afterall the first waterpark in Kedah…

You can however have team-building and telematch events, group outings and school outings here, as the waterpark can easily accommodate 3000 pax at any one time…

My verdict? I actually love the room.. It was pretty, cheerful and colourful, and I did love the ‘Shanghai’ Seafood Char Hor Fun, which was really tasty.. My bed in the room was comfortable and well other then some slight hiccups like slow drainage in the bathroom (in my room) , it was an amazing stay and I would definitely be back for another stay in next time I am in Sungai Petani…

Cinta Sayang is just about 5km from the SP Utara Toll Plaza, 40km from Butterworth Jetty and 66km from Penang International Airport… A trip from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Petani is just 4 hours 30 minutes!!!
