A beautiful evening at Pier 12 Seafood Tavern, Old Malaya, KL

We were at Old Malaya, along Jalan Raja Chulan, at the pretty atmospheric Pier 12 Seafood Tavern, located at the end lot of Old Malaya…

The restaurant is picturesque as a beautifully refurbished old colonial building on the street level….

… enter inside and head to the first floor and you will find an open air sort of tavern-like bar with an impressive view of the KL Tower….

I know I was fascinated by the decorations of the restaurant… With its braided rope lights and pretty unique maritime decorations…

The restaurant serves seafood.. Of course, along with sharing tapas platters, soups, salads and pastas….

Some of the dishes we indulged ourselves in were the mulligatawny soup (RM30), of Madras-inspired curry & a ball of rice for starters and as our appetizers…

Then there is the Pier 12 Garlic prawns (RM38), which was prepared with garlic, salt, lemon juice and some olive oil… And it is pretty delicious…

Followed by some Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab(RM38)… and Classic Ceasar Salad (RM27)

For our main dish, we had some Rendang Lamb Shank (RM58), in which the lamb shank was marinated and cooked with our local Rendang style and served with White Rice and Cucumber Raita…

Then there is the Grass Fed Grilled Beef with Peppercorn Sauce (RM96) served with Roasted potatoes…

And… the Tandoori Flavoured Halibut Fish Fillet (RM46), which was pretty good, as expected considering this was another one of their signature dishes and Grilled Stuffed Chicken Breast (RM42), the chicken was stuffed with spinach, and coated with homemade brown sauce and served with roasted potatoes…

Last and not least.. To cleanse our palate and to have a sweet ending to our dinner, we had some Tiramisu for dessert…

Overall, the food is pretty good and well presented..  It is also pretty tasty and I really love the ambience of the place….

If I have any complaints it would be it is hard to get parking here and the limited  valet is also pretty pricey at RM15….

Thanks to Tourism Malaysia Sentral and Pier 12 Seafood Tavern for the opportunity….
