For the recent Rentak Selangor trip, a collaboration between Gaya Travel Magazine, Tourism Selangor and UPEN Selangor, we were over at Dusun Bonda, a small privately-owned fruit orchard with Villas and Bell Tent Glamping….

Dusun Bonda (DUSUN which means orchard and BONDA which means mother) is owned by Puan Azura, a very enterprising young lady who decided to developed her parent’s orchard and turn it into a small resort…

Puan Azura had a love for nature and she carefully planned Dusun Bonda to be a family sanctuary, a perfect place to spend quality time with loved ones amidst tropical surroundings…

It was also lovingly planned and built to create childhood memories for her daughter, thus you will find plenty of kids-friendly facilities alongside a tranquil view alongside the crystal clear Ulu Tamu river as well as the man-made waterfall and pool (using the water pumped in from the river).

Dusun Bonda is located at Ulu Tamu, Batang Kali, Selangor…. The first sight of it took our breath away… It was just that breathtakingly serene and beautiful… The glamping site was lovely…

There are 2 units of Studio Villas and one  3-bedroom Villa, 4 units of Glam 5-metre Bell Tent that can sleep up to 6 people and 4 units of Glam 4-metre Bell Tent that can sleep up to 4 people….

My home for the stay was one of the Glam 5-metre Bell Tent.. There were three plush Queen sized mattresses in the tent, 2 stand fans, one portable air conditioner, power points to charge your phone and for mosquito repellent as well as lighting…..

What sets this glamping site apart from others is that it is very beautiful, plush with ample pillows to ensure a good night sleep and there is a zinc roof over your tent to protect you from the rain and  anything dropping from the trees…

Since our Glam 5 Tent was just near the pool, we also had our own toilet which was right next door…

There is only one setback but it is also a good thing… The phone line is not too good and there is no WiFi available, so it forces or make you interact more with your friends or family members then just being glued to your phone… Hehehe

We had a lot of fun trying our hands on learning how to cast a fishing net in the river (despite catching nothing), swimming in the river (I have the phone in my hands because I was also taking photos), dancing, karaoke, playing board games, cards, congkak, carrom etc… As well as catching up on some much needed Zzz’s…

Breakfast is provided and I am telling you the roti canai or nasi lemak and kueh is just superb….

Lunch and dinner on the other hand is not provided so you can either opt to cook…

There are two (2) commons area for cooking located at Riverside Tamu Hall and Hillside BBQ Patio for those glamping… You can find toaster, rice cooker, fridge, cooking oil, sugar, salt, cutleries, plates and cups, dish washing liquids, a gas hob, cooking woks, knives & cutting board as well as Coway water dispenser (hot/cold/normal) at the Riverside Tamu Hall and cutleries, plates and cups, dishwashing liquid,a gas hob, cooking woks, knives and cutting board on the Hillside BBQ Patio…

You can also organise your own BBQ Party for a minimal fee at a designated space near your Bell Tent…

If you are not in the mood to cook, then you can go out to the nearest town, Bandar Baru Batang Kali (Ligamas) which is about 9km (20 mins) by car. There you can find a hypermarket Econsave, Fast food eateries like KFC, Secret Recipe, Pizza Hut, Dominos, as well as restaurants such as Malay, Chinese, Mamak and Thai food.

For some local dishes, you find nearby eateries at Kampung Kuantan, 4.1km (10 mins) drive from DUSUN BONDA where there is a famous Roti Canai stall (if you are coming from DUSUN BONDA, it is on your right after Sek Keb Kampung Kuantan and before SYABAS treatment plant. It is recommended to ask for Roti Tampal… The stall is open for breakfast and dinner until supper….

And for a simple lunch, there is a shop selling mixed rice located at one of the shoplots near the Multi-Purpose Hall, Kampung Kuantan…

If you are at Dusun Bonda in group, then you should ask for catering… And believe me, the local catered dishes are seriously yummy..

A minimum number of 10 pax is required for food catering..

Overall, the venue of the place, the cosiness of the bell tents, and the comfort of the stay, and hospitality of the host was what that make us “Create and Recreate Memories” to cherish..
