Food review 2020 – F&B selections at The Danna Langkawi

The Danna Langkawi has a few noteworthy F&B outlets you really ought to indulge in when staying at The Danna Langkawi or even when you are in Langkawi…

We indulge in a delicate English afternoon tea amidst archetypal colonial settings of the Straits & Co, which also served a good variety of local mains and snacks for those who prefer the multi-cultural taste…..

Our afternoon tea was a beautiful affair that came with your choice of a selection of Dilmah tea or Lavazza coffee….

There were sandwiches and sweets.. For sandwiches, there were a couple of Salmon Twister (salmon with horseradish sauce, and lumpfish caviar in a tomato cone), a couple of Beef Chorizo Quesadillas, and a pair of chicken ham and cheese white and brown bread sandwiches…

For sweets, there are Coffee Chocolate Liegeois Choux, Almond Shortbread, Passion Mousse and Blackcurrant Marmalade Madeleines and a couple of homemade scones served with Strawberry Kaffir Lime Jam and sweet cream….

The price? Just RM128 for 2 pax!!! Anytime from 3pm to 6pm……

For an unforgettable dinner, check out The Terrace, an authentic Italian restaurant located next to the pool and the beachside, which is also accessible to the Princess Beach Villas, The Danna Langkawi… The Terrace offers a selection of some of the very best Italian cuisine in Langkawi.

Prepare to be surprised and tantalised with Italian favourites and fresh seafood cuisine during lunch and/or dinner.

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner there… I had the Wild Mushroom Soup with Basil scented Grape Seed Oil…. RM49 for starters..

For my main course, it was one of The Terrace’s signature dishes, Filetto di Branzino Mandorle e Zucchine salsa allo zafferano ( Sea Bass Fish Fillet crusted and baked with almond flakes and green zucchini, saffron emulsion, accompanied with green herbs mashed potatoes and sautéed asparagus) RM88… It was truly superb and I just love the presentation

For dessert I had Cioccolato al Caffe (coffee brulee, almond praline, hazelnut micro sponge, chocolate soil and chocolate tuille) RM37

And for my mocktail, I ordered the Funky Monkey RM28 made from Peach and banana puree, pineapple, mango juice and low fat milk… Which was pretty yummy and healthy….

It was truly a satisfying and lovely dinner perfect for some self indulgence or when you want to treat someone special to a beautiful and perfect dinner….

A bubbly breakfast is served at The Planter’s or you can also choose sit at one of those cabana overlooking the pool

There are dishes you can ask the servers to dish out for you at the buffet (as per post Covid19 SOP) and there are dishes you can order from the servers so they can freshly prepare and send to your table…

And in between there will be special “treats” like some kuih or chicken  offered…. And special morning drinks shots… I had some coconut milk and yogurt drink and also coconut water while at the Danna Langkawi

The Planter’s also serves dinner in the evening. A cosy ambiance and a carefully crafted menu of European specialties and authentic local fare set the stage for a memorable dining experience.

The Verandah Lounge which opens in the evening is perfect for pre-dinner drinks or an intimate tête-à-tête. It is the place for cigar and wine aficionados as attached to the lounge are The Churchill Room (for cigars) and a Wine Cellar. Gin aficionados will appreciate the specialty gin corner offering over 100 different types of gin, boasting the largest collection on the island.
