Food Review 2024 – Sushi Katsu, Siam Takashimaya – ICONSIAM

I was over at ICONSIAM Bangkok to try the exciting Japanese dining experience at Sushi Katsu which is located at Siam Takashimaya there recently….

Sushi Katsu was founded by the Uokatsu Company 5 years ago. Uokatsu, a large fishery from Japan guarantees the freshness and cleanliness of its fish and seafood. A team checks for quality control both in Japan and Thailand, with Japan sending fish over to the store twice a week. This ensures that no stock of fish is kept for a long time—it doesn’t get any fresher than this! The company also distributes fish to sushi and omakase restaurants across Thailand…

The head chef here at Sushi Katsu was famous for opening his own omakase restaurant around Roppongi in Tokyo, Japan. It says a lot that his usual customers from Japan have also flown all the way to Thailand to eat his food here!

The shop recently gain more popularity among sushi lovers in Thailand and tourists in Iconsiam mall because of the quality of the fish which is better then some basic omakase restaurant and also served in more comfortable ambiance with reasonable price….

I love their casual counter style dining ambience. Here’s some of the dishes I enjoyed

Maguro Zukushi

Did you know the Maguro is the king of Japanese sushi. The Maguro Zukushi comes with 4 types of Maguro including a fatty piece – Otoro, medium fatty piece – Chutoro, the signature lightly shoyu-aged Akami, and the silky Negitoro.… Each piece literally melts in your mouth!!!! Just sheer perfection!!!!

Tenkomori Donburi

A pile of chunky fresh fish of the day topped on a sushi rice bowl, including delectable maguro, scallop, unagi, selected white fish, aburi salmon, salmon-roe and etc.

This is a best seller item which diners love taking pictures the most, as it is just colourful and impressive!!!! And the fishes are sliced THICK in every order to ensure maximum pleasure and value for all customers!!!

Avocado Maki

A popular choice for vegetarians and those who prefer a lighter, refreshing flavor. The Avocado Maki is served with soy sauce and wasabi and is  a tasty and healthy option for a sushi meal.

So if you love your sashimi and sushi, you really need to come to Sushi Katsu at ICONSIAM and try the food here!!! It is so fresh and good and that is why you will see flocks of people at the restaurant at times!!! So come early to enjoy!!!
