Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition is located on Level 2, Pink Zone (Next to Tsutaya Bookshop/Ainz and Tulpe)
Dates : 18 Feb – 18 May 2023

Malaysians are now getting more priviledged with world-class level exhibitions that are increasingy coming to Malaysia!

And one of the exhibitions I had fun was was at this Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition…

I wasn’t particularly an anime fan to begin with until the lockdowns and my teenage daughter urging me to watch Demon Slayer anime series and I found myself getting hooked (like millions others, I would say)

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series was a manga created by Koyoharu Gotouge, telling the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a teenager whose goal is to become a demon slayer after his family was slaughtered and his younger sister was turned into a demon. It went on to become an anime series and a hit sequel film, which became the highest-grossing anime film and Japanese film of all time.

Malaysian fans can watch and learn more about their Demon Slayer Hashiras, the Upper and Lower Moons of Muzan Kibutsuji the Demon King, that reminds me of Michael Jackson, all being brought to life at the exhibition….

The ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition’ is being held on the 2nd floor of Pavilion Bukit Jalil from 18 February to 18 May 2023.

So the good news is you don’t have to buy a ticket to Japan because the concept and content shown here are based on the original exhibition in Japan….

There are fun and different themed sets to enjoy with your family and friends, even if they aren’t fans of the show., yeah I dragged my friends through the exhibition trying to tell them who is who and what the story or plot was about while my best friend feigned interest in my babbling… hahahahah

Just as you enter the exhibition, you get to enter Wisteria Forest with Kanata Ubuyashiki and Kiriya Ubuyashiki the daughters of Oyakata-sama (the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps) welcoming you in…. The wisteria is said to be an excellent demon repellent especially when concentrated and works particularly well against low-ranked demons….

Then further on in, you get to encounter the nice looking Demon Slayer uniform with Nichirin Sword replicas….

There is a wall that that introduces all the Demon Slayer Hashiras

The Hashiras are the highest ranking combatants in the Demon Slayer Corps. They are the most powerful warriors among all Demon Slayers, as it is their very existence that literally sustains the entire organization. There are 9 main Hashiras to begin with but a few will lose their lives as the story goes on…. There is the Water Hashira – Giyuu Tomioka, the Insect Hashira – Shinobu Kocho, the Love Hashira – Mitsuri Kanroji, the Serpent Hashira – ObanaiIguro, the Wind Hashira – Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Stone Hashira – Gyomei Himejima, the MistHashira – Muichiro Tokito, the Sound Hashira -Tengen Uzui and the Flame Hashira – Kyojuro Rengoku

As you enter the Demon Slayer Headquarters, you’ll get to see wall panels featuring the main characters of series; Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Giyuu and Shinobu…. I am also most amazed with the replicas of the Nichirin Swords especially Inosuke’s jagged sword and Nezuko’s wooden box which Tanjiro brings everywhere

In the same are you can find many anime draft sketches as well as some completed scenes to understand and marvel at what goes behind the series’ superb animations.

The next room would be the House of Demons, where fans are reintroduced to the antagonists of the series. The Twelve Kizuki – upper and lower moons – showing themselves menacingly in the Infinity Castle.

Much like the Hashiras, their profiles are all shown in the form of Wall Scrolls.

If you’ve watched the series, you know how confusing the Infinity Castle is with moving walls and the platforms are so eerie and looks almost endless that it truly deserves the name. Well, the exhibition has an area dedicated to showing a mechanism of the castle…..

There is a section featuring the Mugen Train and an area where you can sit and watch Kyojuro Rengoku fighting Akaza through the ‘window’ of the train.

Don’t forget the classroom scene with junior Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke and Zenitsu as mischievious students while a strict Giyuu oversees them as their teacher….

The Exhibition comes with mini-games to play from your smartphone by scanning their QR codes and once you’ve completed “your Hashira Training” via these games, you get a nice certificate from the Demon Slayer Corps as reward.

For bigger fans who love splurging on limited edition or imported Demon Slayer merchandise, the Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration exhibition gift shop or souvenir shop is the place to be…. There are adorable and cute keychains, standees, bags, posters etc etc and of coursethe only place that you can get the merchandise featuring the Malaysian themed illustration so don’t miss out on it.

Don’t miss out on refreshing yourself at the mini-cafe outside…. The menu is made up of character-themed drinks, Freeze Cookie Sandwich and Ice creams. The drinks comes with a mini decoration featuring the illustration of the characters in traditional Malaysian clothing and this includes each of their haori patterns packaging as well.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition is a absolutely fun especially for Demon Slayer fans. In fact, even those not knowing much of the series can still enjoy it with how much information and cool illustrations you can get from here. Indulge yourself and enjoy an hour or so exploring this cute exhibition!!!!.
