Gadgets 2024 – My Best Companion – the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G

I have been using my new Samsung Galaxy A35 5G for the past three weeks and am pretty much in love with it!!!! It is definitely my best new companion and one I cannot go without….

My new precious comes with a beautiful display and lovely speakers, a pretty capable chipset, and did you know the camera for the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is among the best you can get for this kind of price range!!!! Like what else can you or I possibly want ??

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G comes with a glass back panel giving it a more premium feel….

The slight bump on the right side of the phone that is the volume and power buttons somewhat made it convenient and easy to find the keys just by feel….The shape of the phone is flat on all sides, with curved edges, and three slightly protruding cameras at the back.

You can find the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G in Iceblue, Lilac, and Navy. I have the Iceblue version, which  seems pretty much white in colour except for the light blue sides…

When you unbox the new Samsung Galaxy A35 5G box, you will find your new phone, a USB-C to USB-C cable, your mini phone guide and the SIM tray pin

When you turn on the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, you see the absolutely gorgeous 6.6 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

Anything that’s shown on my precious here looks really nice and vibrant… . It is pretty much similar to its predecessor, the A34 5G, but with two notable differences.

Firstly, now there is a variable refresh rate, so when you put the phone in 120Hz it will go down to 60Hz automatically to save battery life. Secondly, you have Gorilla Glass Victus+ protecting the display, which should be significantly more scratch and drop resistant compared to the Gorilla Glass 5 on the predecessor.

I enjoy watching my Netflix and playing games on the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G. Even when strolling along outdoors on a bright sunny day,  the phone display is surprisingly visible unlike some other which you cannot even see anything…..

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G main camera is 50MP, but comes with an image sensor…. The 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro cameras remain unchanged.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G  is said to be one of the best budget phones for taking photos, and in general for its camera system. The images are clean, with no oversharpening. Colors are vivid, but not oversaturated and sometimes it looks better then my main higher end smartphone photos….

I am absolutely loving the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G’s low-light camera performance which is definitely amazing / the best its class.

The portrait mode also looks pretty good, cutting out the human subject from the background accurately enough.…. And when it comes for selfies, I have no complaints there….

Samsung has equipped the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G with the Exynos 1380 (5 nm), the same chipset that was featured on last year’s Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. This is a somewhat noticeable step up from the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 (6 nm) that came with the A34, especially in the 3D graphics department.

Playing games such as Monopoly Go or Pokemon Go was fun with beautiful colours

The phone did get slightly warm during a longer period of gaming, but it did not got hot, not like my Samsung a few year s ago….

As for RAM, you get 8GB, which seems to be plenty for this device.

The A35 comes with Android 14 and Samsung’s One UI 6.1. It will get 4 years of software updates and 5 years of security patches. Some of you that are familiar with the more premium Galaxy phones that came out recently might notice that they have three years more of software support, but what Samsung is offering with this mid-range smart phone is definitely a great deal!!!!

The audio quality from my precious – Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is pretty impressive in my opinion, and even at the highest volume level, which is sufficiently loud for those who want to hear their Spotify, Netflix or Tiktok loud…..

But what which heaven sent and inpressive is the security Samsung provides…

We usually have our phones in hand, but sometimes we loan our phone to our kid to entertain them or maybe you are showing something funny to a friend or sending it in for repair…..

Pin App:

There’s has to be instances when you happen to pass your phone to show somebody some pictures or ask your friend to take your photos and they accidentally open another app and see a photo or message, or anything else you didn’t intend to show them. It’s could be pretty embarassing or horrifying, but Pin App can stop that from happening again.

Pin App acts as a Do Not Disturb sign, preventing awkward pop-up notifications that risk showing sensitive information when all you wanted to do was to share a funny social media post.

Samsung Knox is also pretty heaven sent and provides layers of security and privacy, not only to protect users but also to give them choice in what they want to secure. For those who want to keep their most personal information separate and safe, there’s Secure Folder.

Secure Folder helps locks away your data so it cannot be accessed through your phone’s regular storage. It can hold your most private data such as calendar schedules and contact information, as well as notes, photos, videos, files and even apps.

You  can keep a copy of your driver’s license, and then ‘Move it to Secure Folder.’

With Pin App, Maintenance Mode and Secure Folder, you’ve got that extra reassurance against prying eyes.

Personally, I definitely will recommend the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G if you are looking for a budget phone that is capable at shooting nice photos and video.

This is definitely the best affordable mid-range phone you will find on the market as far as camera performance goes.
