I am blessed to have been pretty reasonable well travelled and so, I have been to many zoos… I cannot help it.. I love animals and so with that I am like an overgrown kid when it comes to zoos…

But of all the zoos I have visited (including Zoo Negara, Dublin Zoo, London Zoo, San Diego Zoo, Beijing Zoo, Perth Zoo, Rotterdam Zoo) the Singapore Zoo by Wildlife Reserves Singapore definitely stands out and remains one of my top favorite and best zoo(s) in the world… And you really ought to visit this zoo when you are in Singapore….

What makes it stand out is that the zoo is set in a natural rainforest environment, and a model example of an ‘open zoo’ concept, which means that the animals here at the Singapore Zoo are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures closely resembling their natural habitats separated from visitors just by concealed moats, or in glass-fronted enclosures….

The Singapore Zoo is part of the Wildlife Reserves Singapore which also includes the Night Safari, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park…

There are many animals and zones to discover across the Singapore Zoo, and what I like best about it is that you can find the most unique species of animals here, and well taken care of…

Just for example, I have never came face to face or seen a real life Foosa (after hearing so much about them in Madagascar the movie), cheetahs and the fearsome Komodo Dragon, and I got to see them up close here…

And that includes the Celebes crested macaque, the black “selfie” monkey without a tail….

I was recently in Sandakan on a wildlife safari trip.. And I saw many proboscis monkeys but from afar on top of the tree.. And it was here at the Singapore Zoo, I came to see them much more closely…

There are just sooo many beautiful and unique animals in this zoo… From the rhinos, elephants, white tigers, giraffes , lions, leopards, monkeys, wallabies, kangaroos and many more animals…

One of my favorite enclosure would be the Fragile Forest enclosure where you can enter and be just so close with the animals there too… Animals in the Fragile Forest includes lemurs, mouse deers, victorians pigeons, ducks, saki monkey, and flying fox…

And it was of course also such a wonderful feeling getting to see other unique species of animals instead the regular ones you can see just about everywhere…
