To be honest, when I went to watch this movie review, I went for another reason… I wanted to  see the artistes!!! And so I did not really expect to fall in love with the movie!!!!

Directed by Matt Lai, Malaysia-Hong Kong collaboration “MONEY GAMES”, the brainchild of Eric Tsang and Jack Lim is to hit it big next Lunar New Year! This collaboration between the two iconic celebrities is here to suit the taste of local audiences and set to usher the Year of the Snake with a bang!

“MONEY GAMES” stars an array of versatile cast from both Malaysia and Hong Kong comprising Eric Tsang, Jack Lim, Edmond So, Steady Gang (Haoren, Tomato and Ah Ya), Bobby Au-Yeung, Wayne Thong, Sandra Lim, Jacqueline Tiang, Jovi Heng and more. 

Both Eric Tsang and Jack Lim wear many hats in this crime action comedy, where Eric Tsang takes on the role as executive producer, consultant and actor, while Jack Lim couples up as executive producer and actor.

Both expressed that they are not pressured in taking on multiple roles as Malaysian film production and its crew are well advanced, making the filming process smooth, enjoyable and worry-free. Their challenge is to spark more ideas in bringing entertaining moments and laughter to the audiences.

A media site visit cum press conference was held at M Resort & Hotel here, where its cast expressed their contentment in their participation and are excited for its release during next Lunar New Year in 2025. Both Eric Tsang and Jack Lim showed off their funny antics and jovial personalities at the press conference.

Members of the media were treated with a first-hand glimpse and better understanding on the production, in which the core creative team was also present and shared their experiences.

“Money Game$” is a comedy-action film that combines humor with high-stakes strategy. The story focuses on modern people striving to improve their lives, but some choose dishonest paths like telecom scams, online fraud, and Ponzi schemes to make quick money. Leading the charge is Big Boss Tsang (played by Eric Tsang), who, along with his team of undercover agents, Lam (played by Jack Lim), Arrow (played by Haoren), Big Mouth (played by Tomato) and Ba Jie (played by Ah Ya) infiltrates these criminal groups. Their mission is to dismantle the illegal operations by using the same deceptive tactics as the criminals. The story escalates as the scams spread to Hong Kong, a major financial center. As the battle of wits intensifies, some characters give in to the lure of money and betray the team. Will they succeed in their mission and what will the ultimate outcome be?

Personally, I truly enjoyed the movie and would go and watch it again.. it is really eye opening and great education to most of us !!!
