There’s something truly special about being in Johor…. I was lucky to witness it firsthand at Zoo Johor recently, where the state officially launched the mascot, tagline, theme song, and official video for Visit Johor Year 2026 (VJY2026), a huge milestone moment that marks the beginning of Johor’s journey towards welcoming 12 million visitors and generating over RM42 billion in economic impact.

As someone who’s explored so many corners of this beautiful state, from the dreamy islands of Mersing to the buzz of Johor Bahru, it felt amazing to see Johor finally stepping into the spotlight it deserves.
🐯 Meet Cuping & Jucy – The Faces of Johor

Johor couldn’t have chosen better mascots… Cuping and Jucy, two Malayan tigers (Panthera tigris), born and bred right here at Zoo Johor.
- Cuping, the male tiger, was born in 2013 and got his name from the little scar on his ear (“cuping”), a reminder of his early resilience. He represents Johor’s strength, courage, and protective spirit- proud yet kind, much like the Johoreans I’ve met on my travels.
- Jucy, the female tiger, was born in 2018 and named after her parents, Jeli and Juli. She embodies Johor’s warmth and grace… friendly, approachable, and full of hospitality.

Together, Cuping and Jucy perfectly capture the soul of Johor, the balance between strength and gentleness, tradition and modernity.
💬 The Tagline: “Meh Lah Johor!”

I absolutely love the new tagline. “Meh Lah Johor!” feels so real and so Johor , this warm, open invitation that translates to “Come to Johor!” in the most genuine, friendly way possible. It reflects what locals are like, always ready to welcome you with a smile, a story, and maybe a good plate of laksa Johor.
🎶 The Official Song: “Pesona Johor”

If you’ve ever fallen in love with Johor’s rhythm, the mix of cultures, nature, and city vibes… you’ll probably love this. The new song, “Pesona Johor” (The Charm of Johor) is sang by Aina Abdul and celebrates the unique beauty of all 10 districts through its lyrics and melody. It’s not just a tune, its Johor’s identity, proud and full of heart.
🎥 A Visual Tribute to Johor
The official Visit Johor Year 2026 video is pure wanderlust material. It showcases everything I adore about Johor… the islands, waterfalls, heritage towns, vibrant festivals, and the everyday magic that makes this state so captivating. It’s a reminder that Johor isn’t just a destination…. it’s an experience, one you won’t forget easily!!!
🌟 Looking Ahead to December 2025

This launch is just the beginning. The big celebration… the official Visit Johor Year 2026 Opening Ceremony will take place on 14 December 2025 at Dataran MBJB, where Johoreans and visitors alike will gather for a grand kickoff event.
In a show of unity, Tourism Johor also handed out promotional kits to all 10 district officers, packed with bunting, banners, and other materials, all ready to paint the state with the “Meh Lah Johor!” spirit.
There was even a touching moment when the 1-millionth Zoo Johor visitor was recognized, a milestone since its reopening in August 2024.
Be sure to check out the Visit Johor 2026 sticker on Johor Public Transport buses and Grab Cars — marking the start of a new travel wave. Soon, 20,000 Grab ride promo codes will be up for grabs for locals and tourists exploring Johor’s top attractions!
✨ A New Chapter for Johor

Come and experience it for yourself. 💙
