The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has taken a significant step forward in driving digital transformation within the tourism industry through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PMJ AI Sdn Bhd, the developer behind the MyTravelKaki platform. The agreement was formalised during the MATTA Fair April 2026, one of the country’s leading travel events.
This strategic collaboration reflects MATTA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening digitalisation across the tourism sector, with a focus on improving the visibility, accessibility, and online booking capabilities of travel packages offered by its members. As the travel landscape continues to evolve, the integration of digital solutions is becoming increasingly essential in meeting the expectations of modern travellers.

Through this partnership, both parties will explore the development of a comprehensive digital booking ecosystem, including a dedicated mobile application designed to streamline the promotion and booking of travel products. Beyond convenience, the initiative also aims to enhance digital marketing capabilities and encourage wider adoption of technology among MATTA members.

MATTA President, Nigel Wong, emphasised that the collaboration underscores the association’s commitment to innovation and adaptability in a rapidly changing industry. By working alongside MyTravelKaki, MATTA seeks to transform how travel products are marketed and distributed, while providing consumers with a more seamless and integrated booking experience.

Echoing this sentiment, Justin Tang, Chief Technology Officer of PMJ AI Sdn Bhd, expressed confidence in the platform’s ability to empower travel businesses with advanced digital tools. He noted that MyTravelKaki is designed to enhance user experience while directly connecting travellers with MATTA members, ultimately creating a more efficient and user-friendly ecosystem.

Under the terms of the MOU, MATTA will contribute valuable industry insights and provide support to drive the platform’s development and adoption. Meanwhile, PMJ AI Sdn Bhd will spearhead the design, development, and operational aspects of the digital infrastructure.

This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Malaysia’s tourism digital ecosystem, aligning with broader efforts to future-proof the industry and enhance its global competitiveness
