After a few tiring days of road trips in Danau Toba and Medan, all I wanted to do was rest… so the very next day we got back from Medan, Ivan one of my besties and I checked into the Damas Suites..
The Damas Suites serviced apartments and suites is located in Sri Hartamas, an exclusive enclave in Kuala Lumpur, within 10-15 minutes’ drive of KL city centre… so the feeling of “have have” ( a local Malaysian term of the upperclass)…
Damas Suites is also conveniently a 5 minutes’ drive to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC)…. and right next to the Istana Negara (the King’s Palace)
Damas Suites prides itself as a hip, chic and trendy environment and it does come across exactly that…
The lobby and reception was just so gilded with marble, glass and chrome…
It is also just right across the Hartamas Shopping Center and the good news is you do not even have to cross the road in the hot sun or rain.. since there is a covered and air conditioned link bridge that links the service apartment to the shopping center… thus making it easy for you to to go get some groceries, snacks, do your shopping or dine in one of the many food outlets in Hartamas ashopping Centres or Plaza Damas…
We got ourselves a one bedroom suite which was about 56 to 84 square meters (i did not have a measuring tape so I did not measure it) and it came with a queen sized bed and another additional bed.. (since we were having another friend over too)…
The apartment is spacious even after we had crowded it with another single bed and is perfect for families, leisure and business travelers… or crazy best friends like us…
There is a spacious living area which comes with a sofa lounge and LCD TV for you to relax and unwind after a hectic day…
The suite also comes fully-equipped with a kitchen (at the balcony), a washing machine and a bathroom with shower…
We had a spacious balcony overlooking the view of KLCC and the King’s palace to the left and the swimming pool to the right… and I just loved it…
The stay comes with pretty good breakfast spread… guests can choose from a variety of eggs, hash brown, sausages, bacon, bread, cereals, fruits, juices and much more…
Damas Cafe also serves some pretty yummy noms for lunch, dinner or room service.. I loved their seafood spaghetti aglio olio as well as mushroom soup..whereas Ivan had their chicken chop which was also pretty tasty…
I for one loved the clubhouse facilities that came with the stay…
The infinity swimming pool was just lovely though the view from the pool was nothing much to shout about..
..and they also had a kids pool… oops… forgive this overgrown kid…
They also do have saunas in the changing room for those who like to sweat it off…
The gym was in good working condition and very nicely equipped for all your workouts…. Ivan and I had fun catching up on some light workout there…
Damas Suites provide a complimentary one-way shuttle service two times daily to KLCC, Pavilion Bukit Bintang, Midvalley and KL Sentral.. just check out their time table for it…
On the second night, my other soulmate and best friend, Zol dropped by and we changed our sleeping arrangements again.. we requested for an extra blanket and I cuddled up on the sofa lounge which was comfortable enough if you were use to sleeping just about anywhere like me….
Overall, it is a pretty nice and cosy place to stay… and have some get together with friends or family…
