Food Review 2024 : Putri Kim Korean Restaurant , Taman Sri Gombak…

Putri Kim Korean Restaurant is a no frills, down to earth, charming little Korean style restaurant serving up an extensive offering of Korean dishes with a local twist at reasonable prices!!!!

Come experience the vibrant flavors of Korean street food, reimagined with a local touch. You can enjoy your meal at the restaurant or take it away for your convenience.

Located on the first floor of a shoplot, the service is not fussy, the setting not fancy, but you can count on fresh, tasty, local Korean food that will satisfy your hunger and cravings for this wonderful asian cuisine.

I was there with some friends and we had an amazing time chitchatting and enjoying the food and drinks served here….

The food is sourced from local halal sources as well as imported from Korea and yet the taste was pretty close to the original taste of food in Korea itself…

My friend had the sundubu jigae beef, which was a hot, spicy, filling, comforting, delicious, soft tofu stew and naturally one of the most popular items in the restaurant as well as other Korean restaurants!!! Putri Kim also has a tuna version!!!

Bokkeumbap is a traditional Korean fried rice dish and I ordered the kimchi bulgogi beef bokkeumbap which was definitely yummy and oh soooo filling – it came with thinly sliced beef marinated in a subtly sweet and savory sauce and stir-fried in a pan… very flavourful!!!

Tteokbokki are chewy rice cakes cooked in a red, spicy broth. It’s something you love to chew on and eat on along the streets of Korea… as it is one of the favoured street food made from tteokbokki-tteok with some fish cake, boiled eggs and scallions simmered in some spicy gochujang and Putri Kim had it down perfectly!!!!

Bibimbap is one of the most well known Korean dishes. Putri Kim’s beef bibimbap is a rice bowl topped with all sorts of seasoned sautéed vegetables, marinated beef, a fried egg sunny side up, finished with a sprinkle of sesame and generous dollop of a sweet-spicy-savoury Bibimbap sauce… heaven to taste!!!!! Absolutely perfection!!!!

What is a Korean restaurant without some yummy fried chikin…. And Putri Kim has some super crunchy fried chicken that is coated with hugely addictive Korean sweet chili – sweet chili chikin and delicious soy garlic – soy garlic chikin

Japchae is a colourful Korean sweet potato noodles made with an abundance of vegetables, juicy marinated beef strips and a sesame dressing! And Putri Kim also nailed it perfectly!!! We absolutely loved it!!!!

My dessert was the hotteok cinnamon which had cinnamon sugar cleverly infused inside and was almost crunchy on the outside!!! So lovely!!! They also have a chocolate marshmallow version!!!

And the variety of drinks here is also irresistible from such as strawberry with popping jelly, iced matcha with strawberry and your favorite coffee or just the regular green tea…. By the way, some of the dishes – the rice ones like Sundubu Jjigae and Bibimbap came with free kimchi and green tea!!!!! Which made it a meal on its own already!!!!
