Malaysia Airlines is officially resuming flights to Chengdu starting 9 January 2026… making it the 7th destination in Greater China for the airline!

With the visa-free entry agreement between Malaysia and China now in play… this couldn’t come at a better time for both business and leisure travellers.

But that’s not all… Firefly is spreading its wings too! Beginning November 2025… you can fly direct from KLIA Terminal 1 to Krabi, Siem Reap, and Cebu. Think beach escapes, cultural adventures, and island getaways made so much easier.

On top of new routes… both Malaysia Airlines and Firefly are also adding more flight frequencies across ASEAN, South Asia, China, Australia, and New Zealand… meaning more choices, flexibility, and smoother connections for travellers everywhere.

And here’s a delicious twist… Malaysia Airlines has just introduced its first vegetarian satay, crafted from Lion’s Mane mushroom. Served with the airline’s signature marinade, cucumber, and raw onion… it promises the same bold flavours as the original satay… but with a wholesome, plant-based touch.

MAG is also stepping up its fleet game… with the new A330neo rolling out on selected Australia and New Zealand routes by 2026. That means younger aircraft… better fuel efficiency… and an elevated in-flight experience. In fact, Malaysia Airlines will soon have the youngest widebody fleet flying into Australasia.

If you’re heading to MATTA Fair 2025 this September at MITEC Kuala Lumpur… look out for the MAG Arena. Over 70 booths will be transformed into a futuristic travel playground… with showcases of networks, cabin experiences, digital innovations (yes, even AI-powered hospitality!)… plus meet-and-greet sessions with sports icons and special offers you won’t want to miss.

MAG isn’t just connecting places… it’s redefining travel experiences while staying true to its signature Malaysian Hospitality. And honestly, with everything lined up… 2026 is looking like an exciting year to fly!
