A 5-Day Wellness & Culture Escape in Bangkok: Yoga Retreat, Riverside Vibes & City Adventures

Bangkok is very well known for its buzzing city life, endless shopping, and vibrant street food scene,… but this trip showed me a completely different side of the Thai capital.

Over five unforgettable days with the wonderful people from Tourism Authority Thailand KL and fellow content creators, I was given the opportunity to experience a rare blend of wellness, culture, river views, and iconic city attractions, all while staying at the stunning Montien Riverside Hotel Bangkok.

If you’re planning a trip soon, here’s a full recap of my 5-day Bangkok travel itinerary filled with yoga sessions, night cruises, local markets, and breathtaking skyline moments.

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok + Welcome Ceremony by the River

The moment we touched down in Bangkok (despite the delay of our flight), the excitement kicked in. After getting into our van, we checked in at Montien Riverside Hotel Bangkok, a serene escape overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

The evening began with registration and a lively Opening Ceremony & Halloween Party at the hotel… complete with light bites, cocktails and mesmerizing performances by the teachers and a fun Halloween fashion show… It was the perfect start to our Bangkok adventure.

Day 2: Full-Day Yoga Retreat + Chao Phraya Cruise Dinner

The second day was all about wellness and relaxation.

After breakfast, we joined a full-day of yoga dance and art classes designed to rejuvenate the body and calm the mind. I manage to join in a Tai Chi class but mind you, despite it looking easy, it was anything but easy!!!! Lunch was served at the hotel, keeping the tone mindful and nourishing.

By evening, the vibes shifted from zen to magical as we boarded a Chao Phraya Cruise Dinner.
Gliding past iconic landmarks with the cool river breeze and glowing city skyline… this was truly one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

Day 3: Floating Market, Old Town Streets & Mahanakhon SkyWalk

We kicked off the morning with breakfast before heading to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, one of Bangkok’s most authentic weekend markets. From local snacks to handmade crafts, it was the perfect spot to soak up local culture.

Back in the city, we explored:

  • Charoen Krung Street Art
  • The charming lanes of Song Wat
  • The heritage-rich Talad Noi area

Lunch at a local eatery overlooking the Chao Phraya river in Song Wat, Naam 1608 added more flavour (literally) to the experience.

In the afternoon, we recharged at PAÑPURI Wellness, indulging in soothing health and wellness activities…. an absolute must for anyone seeking balance during their Bangkok trip.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Akara Sky Hanuman for the panoramic views as well enjoying the highest Thai sky experience of Bangkok from one of the highest points in the city. It was a breathtaking, nerve wrecking and fun experience…

Dinner followed at the Michelin Guide recommended Som Tam Der in Silom area, wrapping up a day full of adventure and relaxation.

Day 4: Flower Market, Wellness at Sindhorn Kempinski & Jurassic World

The day started with breakfast at the hotel before we made our way to Pak Khlong Talad, Bangkok’s famous flower market. Bursting with colours, scents, and early-morning charm, this market is a must-visit for photography lovers.

Next was a wellness session at the elegant Sindhorn Kempinski, an oasis of calm in the city.

A delicious lunch at Fa Pla Tahn in the new Dusit Central Park followed simple, delicious and full of flavours, just exactly what we needed.

We then visited the rooftop garden of this newly opened mall….

In contrast to the zen vibes earlier, the evening took a fun turn with a visit to Jurassic World at Asiatique The Riverfront. Here we trained Blue the Velociraptor and got chased by the Indominus Rex…

With river breezes, lively crowds, and a playful atmosphere, it was such a unique Bangkok experience.

We wrapped up the night with some sweet treats at After You dessert shop and headed back to the hotel for our final sleep in the city.

Day 5: Goodbye Bangkok

After one last breakfast at Montien Riverside Hotel, it was time to check out and head to the airport.
A bittersweet goodbye to a city that gave me wellness, culture, adventure… and most importantly,… memories I’ll hold onto for a long time.

Final Thoughts

This trip proved that Bangkok is so much more than temples and shopping malls. It’s a city where wellness meets culture, where riverside sunsets melt into vibrant night lights, and where every corner has a story waiting to be explored.

If you’re planning your next getaway, consider a Bangkok wellness retreat paired with cultural gems and scenic riverside experiences. It’s the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration.

Many thanks to Tourism Authority Thailand for organising this amazing trip and having me on it… It was definitely another amazing memory created!!!!
