Most of the times after a hard long day of fasting, Muslims and other guests will want nothing better then to look forward to a good meal, preferably a meal which can remind them of home…. of their kampung, thus the theme for Concorde KL’s Melting Pot Cafe’s lavish buffet spread which will begin from June 6 to July 5 2016 …
Yours truly here was fortunate to be invited with some other bloggers and media friends to try out the scrumptious offerings…. and trust me when I say you will be spoilt for choice…
Executive Chef Azlan Juri and his assistants – Chef Marubah Amran and Chef Rogayah Sharif have put together a feast of a myriad of tastes guaranteed to titillate your tastebuds…
Some delicious vegetable dishes I enjoyed and which you will find enjoyable would include the tumis pucuk manis dengan keledek, kacang panjang tumis udang kering, sayur lemak nangka ikan masin, and terung bakar berlada…
The main dishes are hard to resist as well… You will surely enjoy the Kambing Masak Cik Putih, Ketam Bercili, Pais Udang dengan Serunding Kelapa, Sambal Tumis Sotong, Daging Masak Merah, Sambal Kering Tempe Ikan Bilis and Telur Dadar (which comes with juicy prawns in it!!)
There are interesting live cooking stations there as well serving up kambing panggang, teppanyaki, mee goreng mamak, wok-fried koay teow, ayam goreng berempah and sambal tumis udang galah….
For those of you who love fritters and fried food, there will be a ‘Gerai Goreng- Goreng‘ featuring cekodok, cucur udang and keledek goreng…
Of course, an authentic Kampung style dish is not complete without appetisers like kerabu pucuk ubi, kerabu daun pegaga, kerabu hati ayam which are some of the must try Malay-style salads served along with rojak buah and bergedil kentang. There are also the variety of ulam that comes accompanied with the must have spicy dipping sauces – sambal belacan, budu, air asam, tempoyak, cincaluk….
For those who enjoy noodles, no worries, the buffet has two noodle dishes served up each day on rotation… Choose from mee soto, mee udang, laksa Johor, mee rojak, mee bandung, asam laksa, mee kari or bihun sup utara.
And naturally, who can resist the sweet endings after a good meal… choose from local favorites as well as western desserts…
These lovely offerings can all be found at the ‘Ala-Ala Kampung‘ just priced at RM145nett per person. A special 15% Discount will be given on June 6 – 12, 2016 and the last day of Ramadhan July 3-5, 2016.
There is also a Buffet Sahur every Friday and Saturday that will start from 11pm up until 5 am in the morning, offering local favourites like mee mamak, nasi lemak, teochew porridge etc… This buffet supper is served every Friday and Saturday at RM80 nett per person.
