Hotel Review 2019 – Savanna Hill Resort

Being social media influencers and blogger is not an easy job.. Even if it does look like fun and games on social media.. There is a lot of work to do and date lines to chase as well.. And an occasional outstation job..

One of these outstation work had my team and I rushing to Johor Bahru over the weekend recently… And well, we stayed a night at the Savanna Hill Resort…

OK.. We kinda thought we got lost when waze took us through a narrow lane filled with just palm trees… And then we saw the resort and the hotel and we caught our breath…

It was lovely.. It was like we found ourselves in a different country, and it is no wonder when Savanna Hills is touted as the number one western concept resort in Johor Bahru…

Savanna Hill Resort is located in the suburbs of Sungai Tiram, Ulu Tiram, just about 27 km from Johor Bahru city centre…

Knackered from our long trip all the way from Kuala Lumpur, we half crawled (OK being too dramatic now) to the lobby and checked into our hotel rooms…

Our room was the Deluxe Twin room which came with comfortable twin beds, a desk, chairs and a flat-screen TV, plus the reasonably spacious ensuite bathroom…

We surely had a great night rest.. As the bed and bedding were all high quality and very cosy…

There are other rooms also including a deluxe triple room, superior family room, suite and…

….this lovely honeymoon suite…

Since it was low occupancy, the hotel served up à la carte breakfast options… If there is a lot of people, then buffet breakfast is served… The food was reasonably good..

For those who are looking for somewhere for team building or wedding or to have a function, the Savanna Hill Resort is a great choice…

The hotel boosts a wonderful ballroom on the top floor of the hotel… It also has a variety of meeting and seminar rooms, halls etc…

Savanna Hill Resort has a generous swimming pool at the side of the hotel perfect for unwinding or having a relaxing swim.. There is a huge slide there to add some splashing fun for kiddies and those young at heart too…

When the General Manager insist on us visiting D’ Hutan at about 10pm… I was seriously spooked.. I was like.. You can’t be serious right, wanting me to go into the “hutan” (forest/jungle) so late at night… For crying out loud.. It was 10pm…and like the witching hour…

However when we arrived at the place.. We were fascinated.. The little lane was brightly litted in fairy lights and illuminated our way right into the D’Hutan area, which was actually a place where you could hold BBQ dinners, functions etc.. And the place was lovely.. Built to be natural with wood and etc… So very back to nature..

Upon checking, I found out D’Hutan is pretty much one of the most unique event venues in Malaysia on social media…. And it is said if you are lucky you will see certain exotic animals such as hornbills, marmosets, porcupines, owl, and mouse deers..

Psst… You can also book the place for wedding, school reunion, family gathering, annual company dinner and any other events.. And you won’t regret it.. It will be one of the most memorable events if you have it there…
