Muay Thai Experience & Fun with Amazing Thailand

Yours truly had the time of her life recently working out doing Muay Thai, despite getting a whole two days worth of aches and pains…

I was one of the fortunate ones that was invited by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) who, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur to “Experience & Fun on Muay Thai with Amazing Thailand” recently, at Ultimate Muay Thai Gym, Taman Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

This event was aimed to lift up the spirit of fun and healthy sport activities, where people can come together – while still keeping good social distancing – and enjoy physical challenge and experience the Muay Thai martial art by the professionals from its origin country like Thailand.

Mrs. Nongyao Jirundorn, the Director of TAT, Kuala Lumpur Office, said that “This event is organized to create the fun experience for everyone during the hard time of pandemic that affected all walks of lives. Physical activities and sports are proven with many health benefits to the mind and body.

Over the  years, TAT has continuously been promoting sports tourism, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in tourism. And Muay Thai martial art, which is originally from Thailand, is a great sport tourism opportunity and has become one of the must-try local experiences among international tourists when visit Thailand. We have many Muay Thai camps nationwide to ensure your great sport experience”.

“For now, if you can’t visit Thailand yet, TAT bring Muay Thai experience to Kuala Lumpur for everyone to enjoy.

This event will also be published on our social media channel: http://www.facebook.com/tourismthailandmalaysia, where audience can enjoy VDO clips of Muay Thai activities from home. And when the situation is better, Thailand is ready to welcome everyone with our safety and hygienic measures that will keep everyone safe while travelling and experiencing the Kingdom”. TAT Director added.
Mr. Rutch Soratana, Chargé d’Affaires, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said that “Thailand recently celebrated its National Day on the 5th of December, 2020. Today’s event is one of the activities in December that is prepared to celebrate Thailand and showcase Thai culture.”

“Thailand and Malaysia have enjoyed a close and cordial relationship since the establishment of our diplomatic relations 63 years ago. Even during COVID-19 pandemic the two countries have been working together to bring their citizens back to their respective countries. The Embassy and our Tourism Authority constantly work with our partners to establish cooperation and  presented our hospitality to Malaysian people. I hope the activity today will give good experience to all participants.” The Chargé d’Affaires added.

The event today includes “Muay Thai Warm Up and Exercise” and “Learning Muay Thai” by professional Muay Thai masters and boxers. The activities were for participants, media and partners to try out and experience.. And oh what an amazing experience it was…

Muay Thai known as “King of the Ring”  feature punches, kicks, elbows, knees, standing grappling and head-butts to wear down and knock out their opponent. Muay Thai teaches you how to defend yourself against multiple simultaneous assailants. Muay Thai is one of the best martial arts for self-defense, and one I believe every one should try out…
