Food Review 2022 /2023 – EMP KL, Westin KL, Bukit Bintang

I am the type of person who hates to sit and brood and since I do have mental health issues, I know I should never sit and brood…

So when I feel my mental health act up, I would normally bring myself somewhere nice and immerse or indulge myself in whatever I can….

So recently for Christmas eve, I took myself to the newly opened fusion contemporary pork- free Chinese restaurant at EMP KL and believe me it was so worth it as it was truly a treat for the senses….

Just stepping foot inside EMP KL was truly an experience to enjoy as you find yourself surrounded by exquisite gold decor and finishings…..

The restaurant which is located on Level 1 of The Westin KL offers diners a visual treat with impeccable view of Bukit Bintang and Pavilion KL from the large bay windows.

EMP KL prides themself for serving a stellar selection of pork-free contemporary Chinese fare infused with Malaysian flavours crafted by their kitchen with 40 years of expertise, cooking up an amazing feast from exquisite dim sum to lobster and king prawns right to their crispy duck and beyond…. Your tastebuds will definitely appreciate the sensorial journey with the delicious dishes served!!!

EMP KL offers you a choice of dining in their spacious dining room or if you have a party, or business meeting or private discussion or even a small function, there are a whopping 11 private rooms, that seats anywhere between six to 24 people, with mic for speeches or well, karaoke facilities for those just wanting a fun time with family and relatives or business associates..

I was having a hard time deciding what to eat but finally ordered some of their signature dishes…

Chilled ice plant with Yuzu Dressings (RM25)
The ice plant salad was definitely crunchy and refreshing minus any bitter taste of normal salad… The yuzu dressing was tangy and sweet and complemented it perfectly… it was definitely one of the best salads I have eaten

Double Boiled Fish Bone Soup with Dried Seafood (RM48)

The Giant River Prawn Chee Cheong Fun (RM78)
This claypot dish comes with savoury hot stir- fried rice rolls topped with a huge firm and fleshy river prawn which has been halved…. It’s definitely a delicious twist on prawns paired with rice rolls.

The Crispy King Prawns with Wasabi Mayo (RM48)

Red Ruby Bubur Cha Cha (RM18)
This bowl of bubur cha cha is a medley of sweet potatoes (in yellow, orange, and purple color), yam (taro) and red rubies cooked in fragrant coconut milk making it a warm and satisfying ending to your meal which is not overly sweet

I was definitely very full after finishing my oh so satisfying lunch… which also put me in a contented and bouyant mood… afterall, a good meal in a beautiful restaurant tends to lift one’s mood considerably
