
Keretapi Sarong 2025 (KS25) is set to make its return on 13 September 2025, marking its ninth year as one of the country’s most anticipated Malaysia Day celebrations. This year’s theme, “Serumpun”, highlights the bonds of heritage and culture that connect Malaysians and our wider ASEAN family, both in unity and diversity.

Once again, thousands of participants will put on the iconic sarong and ride together from 11 starting stations across the Klang Valley, including Subang Jaya, Kajang, KL Sentral, Putrajaya Sentral, UPM, and Gombak. These journeys will converge in a moving cultural flash mob in Kuala Lumpur, symbolising solidarity through rhythm, tradition, and togetherness.

But this year, KS25 goes bigger than ever. The celebration expands to cities nationwide :- George Town, Ipoh, Kuantan, Sungai Petani, Pasir Mas, Johor Bahru, and Melaka , creating a nationwide wave of sarong pride. Beyond Malaysia, KS25 has also become a global phenomenon, with international editions happening in Berlin and Melbourne (31 August), followed by London and Sydney (13 September).

A Celebration of Culture, Movement & Connection
This year’s edition is supported by Rapid KL as the Main Collaborator, providing the heartbeat of the celebration with its extensive train and bus network. Beyond the cultural ride, KS25 will feature performances, creative showcases, and community-driven activities, underscoring Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair for 2025.

Brands and institutions are also coming together to celebrate unity through unique activations:
- MAGGI® joins as a Lead Brand Partner, launching the all-new MAGGI Sup Ayam Berempah, a flavour beloved by Malaysians, which participants will be the first to savour.
- EPF (KWSP) brings its #MerdekaDaripadaScam campaign to KS25, with interactive roadshows, scam-awareness games, and social media activations led by influencers and the Royal Malaysia Police’s Anti-Scam Ambassador.
- ZUS Coffee introduces its “Kopi Sarong, Kopi Kita” campaign, along with ZUS NGUPI® ready-to-drink coffee and the Corak Malaysia Collection, celebrating everyday unity over coffee.
- Tourism Selangor will spotlight the state’s cultural richness as part of Visit Selangor 2025, using KS25 as a platform to showcase traditions to both locals and visitors.
