The Malaysia Sarong Music Run (MSMR) is back… and this year it’s set to take centre stage on 20 September 2025right in front of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Blending music, movement and tradition, the event is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors including runners, tourists, spectators and culture lovers.

In a record-breaking milestone, participants from 26 countries have signed up, putting MSMR firmly on the map as a cultural celebration with global appeal.

Organised by Malaysia Marathon Official Sdn Bhd and collaborated with LOCCO, the community-driven cultural platform behind Keretapi Sarong, MSMR 2025 is powered by JETOUR Malaysia as Main Sponsor and Official Car Partner. The event also receives full support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) as a cultural lifestyle showcase under the national tourism strategy.… MSMR 2025 will see over 15,000 runners take part, while thousands more gather to enjoy live performances, cultural showcases and of course, a feast of Malaysian traditional dishes… all in the spirit of celebrating Malaysia Day.

Key Highlights of MSMR 2025

This year, participants can look forward to three main events:
• EKI JETOUR X BSC Relay Run… a unique sarong relay on 9 September 2025
• 5KM Speed Run (5K Malaysia Speed)… for Malaysians only, showcasing both recreational and elite homegrown talent on 20 September 2025
• 5KM Fun Run… open to everyone, including international tourists, also on 20 September 2025

As the sun sets, the celebration doesn’t stop. Starting at 6:30pm, the festival lights up with live performances from local and international artists… transforming the day into a full-fledged cultural fiesta where food, music and community spirit take centre stage.
